Yotei Meishui Park

Yotei Meishui Park, located at the foot of Mount Yotei and also known as Kyogoku Fukidashi Park, is a representative of Mount Yotei. Rainwater and snowmelt from the mountain seep into the ground, creating a hidden, highly permeable underground water vein. The water remains cool year-round, and gushes forth natural spring water at a rate of 1,440 tons per day. The pure, cool, clear, and sweet water has been designated one of Japan's 100 Famous Waters. The park's beautiful, abundant gurgling waters and diverse, unique red algae are sure to soothe your body and soul.

Eight Views of Lake Toya
Lake Toya is a freshwater lake in southwestern Hokkaido, Japan. It is a caldera lake with a diameter of approximately 10 kilometers, a nearly circular shape, and an area of 70.72 square kilometers. Its circumference is 50 kilometers. Its deepest point is 180 meters, and its average depth is 117 meters. Its water capacity is 8.19 cubic kilometers. The lake surface is 84 meters above sea level. The northernmost frozen lake in Japan.

Lake Toya Observatory
A freshwater lake in southwestern Hokkaido, Japan, located near Uchiura Bay. Part of Shikotsu-Toya National Park, it is a caldera lake. It is approximately 10 kilometers in diameter, nearly circular, and covers an area of 70.72 square kilometers. Its circumference is 50 kilometers. Its maximum depth is 180 meters. Its average depth is 117 meters. Its water capacity is 8.19 cubic kilometers. The lake surface is 84 meters above sea level. The northernmost frozen lake in Japan.

Lake Toya Serro Observatory is the perfect spot for panoramic views of Lake Toya, offering panoramic views of the lake's surrounding natural landscape, including the island in the center of the lake, Mount Yotei, Mount Showa Shinzan, and Mount Usu.

Showa Shinzan Bear Ranch
On December 28, 1943, a strong earthquake struck near Mount Usu on the shores of Lake Toya. The resulting volcanic eruption caused the ground to rapidly rise, forming a high mountain. The volcano continued to be active until September 10, 1945, with 17 episodes of significant activity over the two years. In 1957, in commemoration of this volcanic activity, the 398-meter-high new volcanic mountain was designated a Special Natural Monument and named Showa Shinzan. It continues to grow today, and white smoke can still be seen rising from its reddish-brown mountain.

The Bear Ranch, located near the entrance to the Showa Shinzan Cable Car, houses approximately 100 purebred Hokkaido brown bears. Brown bears are the largest wild mammals in Hokkaido, and the bears can be fed at the ranch. Upon seeing the food, the bears stand up and wave to visitors, their charming gestures endearing them to the eye.
Admission: Adults (junior high school students and older) 900 yen, children (6 years and older) 500 yen. Additional fees are at your own expense.

Toyokyo Onsen
The most distinctive feature of Toyokyo Onsen is its 100% source-flowing hot springs, a rarity in Japan. It's considered a beauty hot spring in Hokkaido. The temperature is barely adjusted, and no water is added. Even in Japan, a nation of hot springs, such 100% source-flowing hot springs are extremely rare. This is a popular hot spring where you can enjoy the pristine natural spring water. The travertine and cyanobacteria in Toyokyo's hot springs leave skin smooth and delicate, making it a popular beauty hot spring for women. Also known as the "Kin no Yu," it's a popular hot spring for healing.

The large open-air baths were meticulously designed by professional gardeners, taking the user's experience into account, creating a truly artistic experience. The areas that come into contact with the skin are made of rounded river rocks from Hidaka and Tokachi, while the areas that don't are made of coarse rock from the foot of Mount Yotei, creating a strong foundation. The shallower areas allow for full immersion, while the higher areas allow for a flat-lying recline, a unique design. Enjoy a truly relaxing soak, washing away both physical and mental fatigue.

Towel rental is at your own expense, with a suggested price of 220 yen.

If Hoheikyo Onsen is temporarily closed, please visit Yumoto Koganeyu Onsen or another nearby hot spring instead. (As the hot spring fee is included, any difference in the price of the hot spring is non-refundable.)
