- Attractions-

▲ Hokkaido's Largest Marine World: NIXE Marine Park
This theme park, themed after the ocean, the birthplace of life, features a four-story aquarium built with cutting-edge technology. Inside, you'll find the Crystal Tower, an 8-meter-high, wide-angle water tank, and Hokkaido's first underwater tunnel, the AQUA Tunnel, where you can experience the sensation of walking in the sea.

▲ Onuma-Onumu Quasi-National Park

Located north of Hakodate, Onuma-Onumu Quasi-National Park comprises 126 islands and 32 bays. Surrounding the park are three alpine lakes: Onuma, Onumu, and Senna-numa, as well as Mount Komagatake, creating a breathtaking, European-inspired landscape. Take a leisurely stroll through the cherry blossom groves nestled beside the lakes, and gaze out at Mount Komagatake, a vibrant, active volcano resembling a galloping steed.

▲ Popular Tourist Spot: Otaru Canal

One of Hokkaido's most popular tourist attractions, the Otaru Canal, built in 1862, took nine years to complete. The canal's width ranges from 20 to 40 meters, and its total length is 1,300 meters. The large stone warehouses from the Taisho and Shōwa eras lining the canal create a picturesque scene. Rows of stone warehouses line the canal's sides, and the gas lamps near the canal square highlight its beauty in the semi-darkness of the night.
