The Caoling Historic Trail is the northern route of the Tamsui Historic Trail, stretching from Wangyuankeng in present-day Gongliao District to the mountainous area of Dali, Yilan. This 9-kilometer hike traverses the Pacific Mountain ridgeline, known as Taoyuan Valley, offering views of vast grasslands, herds of water buffalo, and the stunning sea-sky scenery where the mountains meet. It is a truly representative historical and cultural hiking trail in the Northeast Coast.

Every autumn, the Caoling Historic Trail hosts the Miscanthus Flower Festival, a seasonal spectacle of white silver flowers as white as snow. This year's festival runs until December 8th. In addition to a lively weekend market, the popular Dali Tiangong Temple will also offer free peace porridge. Let's conclude this exciting autumn-only route with blessings for peace.

Travel Notes

This Caoling Historic Trail + Taoyuan Valley combined itinerary is suitable for ages 10 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a parent.

The 2024 Caoling Historic Trail silvergrass season is from November 2nd to December 1st. Due to weather conditions, the blooming season is unpredictable, so we will visit during non-seasonal periods to enjoy the mountain scenery.

This tour requires a minimum of 6 people per group. If insufficient participants are available after the registration deadline, we will notify you and may reschedule or cancel the tour with a refund.

The activity schedule is subject to adjustment based on participant availability, facility conditions, and weather conditions, with safety and overall quality as top priorities.

Rainy Day Notice: If the rain is light, please wear a raincoat and continue the activity, paying extra attention to safety. If the rain intensifies, transportation, activity content, and venue will be adjusted.

If this tour is disrupted due to force majeure events such as typhoons, heavy rain, high waves, strong winds, thunderstorms, etc., the company reserves the right to modify or alter the itinerary, including postponement or cancellation, for the safety of all participants.

If you receive notification from the company prior to departure regarding adverse weather conditions or cancellation, you may choose to postpone or refund the tour.

Tour Pricing

The cost includes:

- Guided tour guide
- Activity photography for commemorative photos
- Insurance
- Trail completion electronic certificate, valid for cumulative access to all sections of the trail

The cost does not include:

- Transportation costs before and after the event (e.g., round-trip train tickets)
- Lunch and drinks
- Any other expenses not mentioned during the event

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 8 days prior to the start of the tour will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made 3-7 days prior to the start of the tour will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2 days prior to the start of the tour will not be refunded.

Passengers who are late or absent from the tour will not be refunded.

If the tour is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the tour. A refund will be issued using the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

If you wish to reschedule your tour due to personal reasons, you must notify us in advance. You may reschedule once. After rescheduling, you will not be able to cancel or refund the tour.

Rescheduling within 3 days of the event will not be accepted and will be deemed a cancellation, subject to the cancellation policy outlined above.

If you cancel your participation during the event due to reasons beyond the organizer's control, no refund will be given.
