Stay at the Mediterranean-style Qinbi Coast B&B in Matsu (Please choose the Qinbi B&B option)

Savor authentic Matsu cuisine, including aged rice noodles, fish noodles, Jiguang pancakes, red fermented rice dishes, and local snacks.

The Matsu Islands, like a string of pearls scattered across the Pacific Ocean, shimmer with a pristine and unique brilliance. The islands, large and small, such as Dongyin, Beigan, Nangan, and Juguang, evoke the wartime landscapes of a bygone era, the pristine traditional settlements, and the warmhearted islanders. It's worth slowing down and savoring Matsu's unique and independent beauty!

Matsu boasts rich ecological resources and vibrant festivals. From the Lantern Festival Carnival, chasing blue tears in spring and summer, admiring gulls in summer, to the Jindong Sake Festival and searching for deer in Daqiu in autumn and winter, these unique and captivating experiences are unforgettable.

Many ocean currents converge near the Matsu Islands, creating a rich tapestry of marine life along the coast. From black sea bream, grouper, and sea bass in the sea, to the common sand crabs and clams on the beaches, to clams and clams on the gravel beaches, to Buddha's hands and sea helmets nestled in the rock crevices, and to the mussels farmed on the shore—these are like nature's refrigerator, transforming them into local delicacies on the table.
Matsu aged wine, brewed with red malt fermented rice, boasts a delicate aroma and multifaceted flavors. In the past, Matsu residents would brew a jar of this aged wine using a family recipe for the winter. Besides being a common seasoning for dishes, it's also a healthy and warming beverage. Dishes like aged wine noodles, steamed yellow croaker with aged wine, eel with red malt fermented rice, fried fish noodles, and Matsu burgers (Jiguang pancakes) are all unforgettable authentic local delicacies!

- Attraction Introduction | Matsu Blue Tears Rowing and Daqiu Deer Hunting 3-Day Trip -

▲ What are blue tears?
"Blue tears" are actually red tides caused by large blooms of dinoflagellates. Newer discoveries indicate they are a natural phenomenon caused by the bright bioluminescence of Noctiluca. Blue tears need to be disturbed to glow, which is why they're most easily seen near coastal reefs where waves crash against them.

From April to June each year, during the blue tears season, the waters off the coast of Matsu shimmer with a dreamy blue light. Seeing these "blue tears" requires not only the right season, wind direction, and location, but also a bit of luck, which further enhances their preciousness and uniqueness. Seeing them is a sight that leaves a lasting impression on travelers, making them feel not only lucky but also unforgettable!

▲ Nangan [Matsu Distillery]

"The fragrance of an open jar spreads a thousand miles, and a washed jar intoxicates thousands of households." This renowned wine is renowned for its traditional brewing methods, including koji, kaoliang, and aged liquors. The distillery showcases commemorative liquors from past generations, and visitors can learn about the distillery's past and present through video presentations and exhibits. Visitors can also sample the distillery's signature kaoliang liquor.

▲ Nangan [Baba Tunnel]
Originally a chariot tunnel, the unique temperature and terroir conditions within the tunnel allow for the production of exceptionally flavorful and aromatic liquors. It now houses a variety of aged wines from the Matsu Distillery.

▲ Nangan [Tianhou Temple]
Matsu, named after Mazu, is a center of worship for the island's residents, attracting numerous devotees and a vibrant incense market. Local legend has it that when Mazu's father was shipwrecked, she threw herself into the sea to save him, but was tragically swallowed by the waves. Her body drifted to the village's bay, where it was later discovered and buried by local residents. To express their gratitude for her filial piety, the locals buried her in a stone coffin carved with phoenix patterns.

▲ Nangan [Mazu Giant Statue]
The Mazu Giant Statue stands 28.8 meters tall and was once the tallest stone Mazu statue in the world.

▲ Nangan [Beihai Tunnel]
Explore the mysterious tunnels: Completed in 1968 in response to wartime needs, the tunnel took three years to complete. The approximately 800-meter-long tunnel can accommodate hundreds of landing craft.

▲ Nangan [Zhen Ge Dai Dan Memorial Park]
When a boat enters Matsu's Fu'ao Harbor, the four bright red "Zhen Ge Dai Dan" figures leaning against the masts are always visible, towering majestically on Fuqing Ridge in Nangan. The park boasts an observation deck offering panoramic views of Fu'ao Harbor, where the sea and sky merge into one, creating a unique and picturesque scene.

▲ Nangan [Beihai Tunnel - Encountering the Dreamy Blue Tears by Rowing at Night]
By riding a traditional Matsu fishing boat, a "rowing boat," visitors have the opportunity to see the blue tears up close and experience a cinematic, dreamlike scene.

▲ [Daqiu Deer Viewing]
Originally, there were only a dozen or so sika deer on Daqiu Island. Thanks to natural reproduction, there are now over a hundred. Strolling through the stone houses and alleys, you'll encounter deer and often experience unexpected surprises! A specially arranged half-day boat trip to Daqiu Island allows you to experience the pristine nature. Stroll leisurely among the stone paths and ancient houses, gaze at the terns flying over Zhongdao and Tiejiandao, and enjoy a leisurely and undisturbed moment.

▲ [Banli Mansion] in Beigan
The Mazu people constructed this ancient mansion using local materials, including stone and wood. The stonework on the exterior is laid out in a regular herringbone pattern, unlike the more common haphazard stacking of stones. The "Banli Mansion" clearly reflects the grandeur of its time.

▲ Beigan [Qinbi Village]
To complete the "Stone House Village," the village currently features several relaxing B&Bs. Besides traditional architecture, the village boasts a tranquil environment. The pristine white quartz sand beach in front of the village, and the azure waters rival those of the Mediterranean Sea.

▲ Beigan [Tanghoudao Beach: Encounter Blue Tears, Star Sand, or an Endless Starry Sky]

At night, Tanghoudao Beach, lapping under the waves, promises a magical encounter! Fluorescent blue dots constantly appear on the surface, creating a coastline resembling a sea of blue beer, or perhaps a vast Milky Way starry sky. It's truly breathtaking, as if you've stepped into the otherworldly world of "Avatar."
