Follow the lush, refreshing mountain trails, follow the natural rhythm of life, and embark on a low-carbon, green journey! Did you know that Asia's largest botanical garden is in Taiwan? Nestled deep in the mountains of Yilan, Fushan Botanical Garden boasts a rich ecosystem of native flora and fauna, and admission is required. Must-sees include the stunning aquatic ponds and forest trails, along with the chance to observe adorable muntjacs and playful macaques up close. A day trip not only offers a visit to the magnificent Fushan Botanical Garden, but also offers a relaxing afternoon stroll through Shuanglianpi, a "paradise of aquatic plants."

Planning a green trip that's environmentally friendly and socially supportive is simple. Let's be responsible travelers together!

- Introduction to Fushan Ecological Tour Attractions -

▲ Fushan Botanical Garden

At the border of Taipei and Yilan lies a 1,000-hectare experimental forest. The Hapen and Cukeng Rivers originate in this water source protection area. The 30 hectares open to visitors are limited to 500 people per day. Leave the park before 4:00 PM to return the space to the animals that inhabit it. Every March, the park is given a month-long rest period for the animals to recover and recuperate during their breeding season. Although called a botanical garden, it's essentially an ecological park untouched by human activity. Its well-maintained natural state is a key factor in its appeal.

▲ Shuanglianpi

Located in Yuanshan Township, Yilan County, this natural lake, at an altitude of 470 meters and covering approximately 18 hectares, is a natural lake. Calling Shuanglianpi a "heaven of aquatic plants" is no exaggeration. The number of aquatic plant species recorded here accounts for over one-third of Taiwan's native aquatic plant species, making it the largest wetland in Taiwan. Over ten rare plant species are found here, earning it the title of "National Treasure Wetland." The floating islands within the lake are a natural wonder. There's also a forest bathing trail around the lake, rich in negative ions. Along the way, red flowers and green foliage fill the air with the poetic sounds of birdsong, flowers, and cicadas, like the sounds of nature. Overlooking the lush green mountains, the varied depths and shallows of the mountains create a beautiful natural landscape painting. In addition to its rich wetland ecosystem and low-altitude forests, the streams here are exquisitely detailed and scenic.

▲ Yilan County Government Building

Located within the confines of "Yilan Old Town," the building's design concept is "people-friendly, park-like, and regional." It adopts a seamless park-like design, making the space completely open and accessible to the public, achieving a welcoming and accessible experience. Integrated into the park, the County Government Building is more than just a symbol of authority; it is a facility that connects county residents. The design adopts a park-like and open design, allowing residents to enjoy the facilities as if strolling in a park. The open roof garden offers panoramic views of Kameyama Island and the vast rural landscape. The rooftop is covered with soil to increase green space and provide insulation, making it a representative example of a green building.

〔Official Announcement〕Fushan Botanical Garden Admission Notice
1. To minimize disruption to the environment, the garden has implemented a maximum number of visitors. Please remember to complete the online admission application process and wait until you receive your admission approval before departing.
2. Before leaving, please bring your original photo ID (children should bring their health insurance card or a copy of their household registration) for verification by park staff.
3. The park is surrounded by well-preserved forests. Therefore, in addition to large wild animals, venomous creatures such as bees, snakes, and biting cats are also present. For the safety of your pets and to prevent potential infection between wild animals and pets, pets are not allowed in the park.
4. To prevent wild animals from rummaging through garbage, there are no trash cans and no food is provided. We welcome you to bring your own light meals to enjoy in the wild, but please refrain from feeding the wild animals and take your trash with you upon descent.
5. The park is located at an altitude of approximately 600 meters. Access to the park is restricted to vehicles with fewer than nine seats. Mountain roads are prone to fog and animals may occasionally appear. Please drive slowly and carefully, and bring warm clothing and rain gear to protect yourself from the cold.
6. Due to the park's mountainous location and high rainfall, most trails are paved with gravel to prevent erosion. These trails are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs. Accessible facilities are limited to areas around the aquatic plant pond and near the Nature Center. If visiting with young children, we recommend using a baby carrier.
7. Fushan Botanical Garden is home to wildlife. Visiting hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please conclude your visit by 3:50 PM to allow your parents a safe and comfortable space to explore and forage.
8. The garden has volunteer guides who provide pre-visit tours for all visitors. Due to staffing constraints, we do not accept reservations for guided tours. You can watch an introductory video at the Nature Center or download leaflets and worksheets from the garden's website to enhance your visit.
