▲Shirakawa-go Gassho Villages
There are five Gassho villages in Shirakawa-go, with Ogimachi being the largest and most famous, boasting 113 intact Gassho-style buildings. Ogimachi offers the most abundant sightseeing opportunities, with the Wada family, an important cultural property, the Myozenji Local Museum, and the Living Museum offering the best spots to enjoy the Gassho-style village. The name "Gassho-style village" comes from its architectural style. The gabled roofs resemble two clasped hands, giving the houses their name "Gassho-zukuri," and the village its name "Gassho-style village." 300 years ago, residents adapted to the valley's natural environment by designing their wooden houses into equilateral triangles with 60-degree angles. This angle not only shielded the village from the cold winds but also allowed it to withstand heavy snowfall. Since ancient times, the village has often been plagued by heavy snowstorms, cutting off access to the outside world. This has shaped the region's unique customs and culture, which continue to this day and enhance its mysterious beauty.

The highlight of this itinerary is the "Snow Valley." Visitors can take advantage of various transportation options specifically designed to admire the snow walls. Stroll along the snow wall corridor between Tengudaira and Murododaira, admiring the nearly 18-meter-high walls up close. Feel the rich snow, preserved after nearly six months of ice cover. At 2,450 meters above sea level, Murododaira, Tateyama, witness the power of nature and the awe-inspiring wonders wrought by human excavation, exuding a majestic aura.
#Section 1: Tateyama Cable Car, Tateyama Station to Bijodaira, takes 7 minutes.
You can ascend a 500-meter elevation gain with an average slope of 24 degrees, viewing precious sashimi and rocks along the way.
#Section 2: Tateyama Plateau Bus, Bijodaira to Midagahara to Murodo Station, takes 50 minutes.
Enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery at approximately 1,500 meters above sea level. The breathtaking scenery from the car window is truly breathtaking and will never tire of viewing.
#Section 3: Tateyama Tunnel Trolleybus, Murodo Station to Daikanbo, 10 minutes.
This trolleybus, operating at Japan's highest point at 2,450 meters, passes directly through a tunnel beneath Mt. Tateyama. Because it uses electricity, no exhaust is emitted.
#Section 4: Tateyama Aerial Ropeway, Daikanbo Station to Kurobe-daira, 7 minutes.
This is the largest of Japan's non-supported aerial ropeways, acting like a moving observatory, offering stunning panoramic views.
#Section 5: Kurobe Mountain Cableway, Kurobe-daira Station to Kurobeko Station, 5 minutes.
This is Japan's only cable car whose entire route runs underground to preserve the natural landscape and prevent avalanches.
#Section 6: Kanden Tunnel Trolleybus, Kurobeko Station to Ogizawa Station, 16 minutes.
This trolleybus runs through a tunnel excavated to transport materials during the construction of the Kurobe Dam. On the way, the project will pass through the border of Toyama and Nagano prefectures, and will also pass through a rock-fracture zone that was successfully broken through after difficult construction.
Travel Notes
╴ If the minimum number of participants is not reached at least 21 days before the tour departure date, the height of the snow wall will be affected by snow conditions.
╴ Upon arrival in Murodo, you will have free time at your own leisure. Please explore the Daisetsukino Valley and enjoy lunch on your own.
╴ If road conditions, crowds, weather, or other factors affect the itinerary or the duration of the tour, the "Hike to Daisetsukino Valley" tour may be cancelled.
╴ Your arrival time in Osaka on Day 2 may be significantly delayed due to the time required to travel the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route or road conditions. Please ensure you plan your arrival time in Osaka.
╴ Because breakfast is included on Day 2 (a Japanese and Western buffet, no special meals such as hypoallergenic options are available), and if your Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route transportation departs early, your departure from the hotel may be moved up to 5:30 AM. If you depart early in the morning, you may be offered a breakfast box, no breakfast, or a refund. The breakfast fee is 1,000 yen per person.
╴ Due to the limited-time availability of this popular route, the next-day departure time may be adjusted based on the cable car schedule provided by Tateyama Kurobe. This is subject to the arrangements of the tour staff on the day of your tour.

The duration of each attraction is determined based on traffic conditions and the number of participants on the day.
Late arrivals due to traffic will be considered a cancellation and no refund will be given.
No refund will be given for personal reasons.
During Spring Break, public holidays, and the Lunar New Year holiday, the tour may end later than scheduled due to traffic congestion. Furthermore, if the return time is delayed due to other unavoidable reasons, resulting in the need for taxis or accommodations, the company cannot cover any expenses.
Smoking is prohibited on the bus and there are no restrooms.
Seat assignments are not possible.

Cancellation Clauses
Cancellations after booking will be subject to a 20% handling fee.
Cancellations between 20 and 8 days (including the 20th day) before the start of the trip will be subject to a 30% handling fee.
Cancellations between 7 and 1 day (including the 7th day) before the start of the trip will be subject to a 50% handling fee.
Cancellations made on the day of the trip are not eligible for a refund.
Rescheduling requests due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.
If participation in the event is cancelled due to reasons beyond the organizer's control, no refund will be given.
In the event of force majeure such as natural disasters, Tripbaa will proactively notify you of any postponement or refund.
