Hualien's Longitudinal Valley is truly soothing! The vast forests nestled on the plains are a perfect place to enjoy the vibrant greenery and phytoncides. This relaxing journey begins with a bicycle ride. Get moving and experience the natural greenery of the Danong-Dafu Forest. Of course, indulge your taste buds with the local Hakka delicacies. After satisfying your appetite, cycle to a secret mountainside retreat called "Guoshixia." The simple interplay of bamboo and dough creates a delightful afternoon tea. Let the pedaling wind blow away the daily chaos! Let the feel of bread baked by your hands and the glow of the fire warm your stomach and your well-deserved relaxation.

-Da Nong-Dafu Flatland Forest Healing | Free Breeze Forest Bike Ride-

Located between the Hualien-Taitung Longitudinal Valley plains, the Danong and Dafu sugarcane farms of the former Hualien Sugar Factory have been transformed into a large-scale forestation, equivalent to 48 Taipei Daan Forest Parks. Hualien's beautiful mountains, clear waters, and flat, green fields, pure and vast, create a breathtakingly beautiful landscape. Here, our electric scooters freely weave through the forest, passing shaded by leafy Taiwania trees and sweetgum trees. The Forestry Bureau, through ecological reforestation, has for the first time connected the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range with a large-scale ecological corridor. The call of the muntjac is the most common sound along the forest trails, and occasionally, a fleeting glimpse of one quickly vanishes right in front of you.

Fruit Man Park, nestled against the mountainside, offers a rich and diverse ecology that changes with the seasons. Beyond the lush greenery of trees, flowers, and plants, there are many small surprises waiting to be discovered. In the subtle observations and from different perspectives, one can truly discover the simplicity and beauty of everyday life.

Bamboo is a vital forest resource, fast-growing and versatile. In the early days, bamboo was an integral part of rural life, essential for food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. Known as a "green gold mine," bamboo is not only deeply rooted in our lives but also widely considered an environmentally friendly and sustainable resource.

Fruit Man invites everyone, young and old, to join in the fun and hands-on experience of baking bread with bamboo. Get to know this treasure through hands-on experience!

Activity process

09:30 Gather at the Danongdafu Plain Forest Visitor Center and receive pre-trip instructions

Follow the local riding instructor ~ Cycling along the forest trails and get some fresh air

Lunch (at your own expense): Hidden Hakka delicacy - Dahe Lei Cha Shop or Assorted Noodles at the village's top 100 pearl shop

Cycling to the Fruit Man Park

Make a pot of tea and drink it leisurely

[Bamboo Fun] Experience kneading dough yourself and baking snake bread with bamboo, or [Herb Therapy] DIY herb picking.

Travel Notes

This tour is open to participants aged 10 and above and under 65 years old in good health. Minors must be accompanied by their parents at all times. Riders are recommended to be at least 135 cm tall. Those with asthma, cardiovascular disease, pregnancy, knee injuries, or physical limitations are advised not to participate.

This tour is subject to change based on factors such as the number of participants, events, or weather conditions, without prior notice.

Passengers agree that any injuries or other bodily harm caused by a fall will be covered by their insurance. Damage or loss to the bicycle will be the responsibility of the user and not the organizer. Please do not participate if you do not agree.

A rain gear package will be provided, including a lightweight raincoat. In the event of heavy rain, the itinerary may be adjusted accordingly. This tour is suitable for first-time cyclists.

Pre-trip precautions and contact information will be announced prior to departure. Please stay tuned for further information.

Please meet on time on the day. No refunds will be given if you are separated from the group or cannot meet up due to personal reasons.

Participants are kindly requested to adhere to the planned route and not deviate from it. The organizer assumes no responsibility for any traffic accidents or incidents resulting from deviation from the planned route; participants are solely responsible for the consequences.

Tour Pricing

The cost includes:

- Bike guide
- Electric-assisted bicycle rental (one per person)
- Choice of either a bamboo fun or a herbal therapy experience
- Afternoon tea
- Snacks and bottled water
- Travel liability insurance (NT$2 million accidental death and NT$200,000 accidental injury medical coverage)

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 41 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 5% handling fee.

Cancellations made 31-40 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 10% handling fee.

Cancellations made 21-30 days (including the 30th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2-20 days (including the 20th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1 day prior to the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1 day prior to the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Refunds are not available on the start date of the trip.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Requests for rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons beyond the organizer's control, no refund will be given.
