▲ Taiwan Black Bear Education Center

Learn about the ecology of the black bear (Tumaz). As Taiwan's only native bear species, the black bear holds unique ecological, conservation, and cultural significance. Its survival is crucial not only for the preservation of this species on the island but also for the integrity of the forest ecosystem and the protection of overall biodiversity.

▲ Nan'an Waterfall

The majestic Nan'an Waterfall, originating from Dalixian Mountain in Zhuoxi Township, Hualien County, is a must-see attraction on the Walami Trail. Its well-preserved environment and abundant water resources create a torrent of water cascading down the cliffs, creating waves of silvery white splashes in pools of varying depths.

▲ Walami Trail
The Walami Trail is part of the eastern section of the Batongguan Mountain Crossing Trail, built during the Japanese colonial era. Located within Yushan National Park, it traverses the mountains from Hualien to Dongpu Hot Springs in Nantou, a former east-west trail. This area was once the traditional home of the Bunun people and the home of the Formosan black bear. Explore the bear-infested forest and explore its ecology and stunning mountain scenery.
