- Attraction Introduction | A Day of Hiking on the Yulu Historic Trail -

▲ Yulu Historic Trail
"Jinbaoli Road" was once a shortcut between Jinshan and Shilin. It also served as a convenient route for residents to transport fish, tea, and sulfur, earning it the nickname "Yulu Historic Trail." Along the trail, you'll find numerous historical relics from the Qing Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period, including the famous Jinbaoli Road Gate; the "Hanbingcuodi" (a place that sold cakes, porridge, and simple utensils to serve travelers); the "Xuyan Bridge" (built to facilitate the transport of tea); and the Tudigong Temple.

▲ Fort No. 6 (Observation Deck)
Due to its high and flat location, Qingtiangang has been a strategic military location since ancient times. Numerous defensive structures were constructed during the Qing Dynasty, the Japanese colonial period, and even the Nationalist era. This fort, an anti-airborne fort designed to prevent enemy airborne attacks, offers a glimpse into this past.

▲ Qingtiangang Grassland
Fort No. 6, formerly known as Daling or Niupu, was established during the Japanese colonial period as the "Daling Ranch," implementing a system of fostering oxen. At its peak, the area housed approximately 1,600 cattle. The lush greenery often attracts many tourists for outings, picnics, and hiking.

▲ Xu Yan Bridge
Constructed in 1896, Xu Yan Bridge spans the Shanghuang River. Xu Yan, a native of Shimen, built the bridge to facilitate the transportation of tea, and through word of mouth, the bridge became known as Xu Yan Bridge. The bridge was destroyed during the Japanese colonial era, and a new bridge was restored in 1986, based on the arch shape of the original. Standing on the bridge, one feels a sense of nostalgia.

▲ Keelung Island
Formerly known as Jilong Island, its isolated location in the sea makes it a prominent natural landmark for Keelung and the North Coast region. Keelung Island measures approximately 960 meters from northeast to southwest, 400 meters wide, and covers an area of approximately 24 hectares. Its highest point, at 182 meters above sea level, resembles a whale. Along with Mianhua Islet, Pengjia Islet, and Huaping Islet, they are four volcanic islands off the coast of Keelung. Surrounded by cliffs, there is almost no flat land, and many sea caves and reefs can be seen. Take a yacht around the islands and enjoy the charming and spectacular scenery of Keelung Islet from different angles.
