Tour Overview

If you have signed up after the registration date, we recommend you opt for the Mazu Aerial Pilgrimage Tour instead, which will allow you to experience the same joy as the Mazu pilgrimage.

[Quba Exclusive] You don't have to worry about transportation and can easily reach the most unique Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage team.

You can get off at point A and get on at point B with the pilgrim group, without having to waste time and energy walking back.

Multiple boarding and alighting points are provided to meet the needs of passengers outside the Taipei city area.

The train stops at Qiding Station so that accompanying friends and family can visit in batches, and then proceed to Qiding Mother-and-Child Tunnel.

Passengers with limited mobility can bring their own bicycles to participate.

[Limited Bonus] The first 20 passengers who register and complete payment for the April 17th tour will receive the latest, super-popular Baishatun Mazu co-branded face masks.
For first-time Mazu pilgrimage travelers or those lacking stamina, the shuttle bus allows you to easily participate in the annual Mazu pilgrimage in separate sections. Accompanying friends and family can board the bus at the same point and disembark at different points, allowing you to explore in separate groups according to your preferences. Passengers who disembark at Qiding Station can rent bicycles there to explore the Qiding Mother-and-Child Tunnels.
We also recommend purchasing a petition. The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage includes the release of the head flag, boarding the sedan chair, departure, arrival at Beigang, the fire-burning ceremony, return to the temple, and the opening of the furnace. The fire-burning ceremony is considered the most important ritual of the entire pilgrimage. A monk recites the petition, praying for Mazu's blessing. Staff will also assist in reading the names of the incense burners who have signed up for the petition. Then, using the ever-present Guangming lamp within the temple, the gold paper is ignited, and the petition is burned into the eternal incense. A fire ladle is used to draw the sacred fire to the fire vat at the Baishatun Gongtian Temple, where it is placed in the incense carrier and sealed. The incense carriers will then escort the incense bearers back to the temple. This allows you to fully participate in the blessing ceremony and receive a complete set of pilgrimage equipment.

- Attraction Introduction -
▲Baishatun Mazu
Taiwan's March Madness Mazu pilgrimage is ranked alongside the Vatican's Christmas Mass and the Hajj as one of the world's three major religious events. The Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage has even been registered as a "National Intangible Cultural Heritage" in Taiwan. Among the many Mazu pilgrimages, the Baishatun Mazu is known to be the most unique and humane. With no set route or fixed resting points, Mazu always knows where she is needed. This is why the Baishatun Mazu sedan chair often appears to suddenly dash into a factory or make a sharp turn to comfort devotees. In 2001, the pilgrimage even crossed the Zhuoshui River. All the sedan chair crew members and elderly incense burners, fearlessly supporting each other and wholeheartedly believing in Mazu, brought warmth to the hearts of all who witnessed it. The incense burners also fully felt the warmth of the Taiwanese people throughout the process. As a result, every visitor, holding their own wishes, felt as if they too found peace of mind by accompanying Mazu on the pilgrimage.

Qiding Tunnels

Riding a bicycle through beautiful green forest tunnels in the breeze, you'll feel like you've entered a mysterious world created by Hayao Miyazaki. Along the way, you'll be transported by nostalgic trains and old railroad tracks, overlooking the ocean and beautiful coastline. This is a perfect spot for families to relax and unwind.
