Tour Overview

Explore the secrets of God’s tribe in Taiwan—Simakusi, and find the sacred tree of Da Laoye!

Jinping Elementary School, Forest Elementary School, Zhenxibao Church, all these private attractions are available at once!

Explore the Simakus Sacred Tree Forest, once known as the Black Tribe. This two-day, one-night Simakus Hiking and Xinguang Tribe two-day tour takes you along the Giant Tree Trail, where you'll gaze upon the approximately 3,500-year-old "Big Lord" sacred tree. Encounter a magical forest along the Giant Tree Trail and immerse your body, mind, and soul in the vibrant forest phytoncides!

The itinerary also includes visits to the Xinguang Elementary School Forest Classroom and the Zhenxibao Church in Xinguang Tribe, showcasing the power of faith and the simple customs of the Atayal people. The large mural at Jinping Elementary School is a recent tourist attraction. Painted by French artist "Mr. Qi," the mural, inspired by the Atayal mythical Rainbow Bridge, embodies the spirit of protecting and inheriting Atayal traditional culture.

-Seasonal Offer | Simakus Zhenxibao Sacred Tree Hiking-

▲ Cherry Blossom Season
During the Simakus cherry blossom season, from mid-February to the end of March, visitor numbers are typically restricted, and advance permits are required. Hot spots for cherry blossom viewing are the cherry blossom tunnel in the middle section of the Giant Trees Trail and on both sides of the Simakus Tribal Archway. This attraction attracts a large number of tourists every year, so planning your Simakus trip two months in advance is highly recommended!

- About the Attraction | Simakus Sacred Tree Tour in Hsinchu -

▲ Simakus Da Lao Ye Sacred Tree
The magnificent Giant Trees Trail is a must-see when visiting Simakus. The towering trees create a sense of being on an epic movie set. The Yaya Qparung Sacred Tree, also known as the Yaya Qparung Sacred Tree, boasts a 2,500-year-old history.

▲ Xinguang Elementary School
A simple advertisement brought Hsinchu's Xinguang Elementary School, also known as the "Classroom in the Forest," to the world. Standing at the highest elevation in Hsinchu, Xinguang Elementary School boasts a distinctly Atayal-style elementary school. Ingenious touches can be found throughout, including hand-painted wooden walls that showcase the indigenous carving talent.

▲ Zhenxibao Church
The Zhenxibao Presbyterian Church in Hsinchu is the most important community center in Zhenxibao. Built entirely of stone by the local community, the church was built using local Xiuluan stream stones, wood from nearby trees, and marble from Hualien. Its simple and powerful form, with its black walls and white stone rising into the vast blue sky, is breathtakingly beautiful, with every stone and step.

▲ Jinping Elementary School
French-born international mural artist Julien Malland Seth (Mr. Qi) participated in the "Coloring for Love" project, leaving beautiful images on the playground of Jinping Elementary School in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County. This has made Jinping Elementary School a popular destination on many travelers' bucket lists.

▲ Hexing Station
Located in Hengshan, Hsinchu, "Hexing Love Station" is a must-see attraction on Provincial Highway 3. It's small but packed with meaning. The words "Hexing Station" hang high above the station in white letters on a blue background, recreating the sign from an earlier station. There are also rare Japanese-style wooden waiting shelters and a stationmaster's office. A blue train wafts the aroma of coffee. Art installations and romantic elements scattered throughout the park await travelers, waiting to unlock the secrets of love.
