The Bald Cypress Green Corridor Winery picnic brings wine lovers to Erlin Winery for a picnic. Experienced winemaking staff will share their experiences and tips on tasting a bottle of local wine, offering a glimpse into the history, varieties, soil, cultivation, brewing, nurturing, tasting, and vintages of local wine.

Yuancheng Farm, located between Erlin and Changhua, was once considered barren land by the Japanese. Hakka people from Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli migrated here about a century ago and cultivated the area. They cultivated sugarcane, rice, and grapes, and once secured a stable income through contracted grape production with the National Grape Sales Bureau. Erlin Township was once Taiwan's largest wine grape producing area. After the National Grape Sales Bureau terminated these contracts, vineyards dwindled dramatically. However, some farmers persisted and transitioned to winery operations. Erlin Township currently has approximately 50 hectares of wine grapes planted and boasts approximately ten wineries, making it the township with the highest winery density in Taiwan.

Activity process

Check in at 14:00 to receive a picnic tasting basket, ice cubes, ice bucket, and a bottle of red or white wine

◥

Choose a comfortable picnic spot within the estate

◥

Set up picnic mats, small dining tables, wine barrels, and tabletop meals

◥

Chill red or white wine for about 10-18 minutes

◥

After opening the bottle with a corkscrew, pour the wine into the tasting glass until it is about 1/3 full.

◥

Shake the wine glass for about 3-5 minutes to decant the wine

◥

Listen to the winery owner's explanation and sharing surrounded by the aroma of wine

◥

- The event runs from now until December 20, 2020. The limited price is NT$1,552 per person for 4 people (original price NT$3,952 per person). Each person is limited to one entry into the "Digital Travel Taiwan Fun" series, and the original price will return to normal after the event. Please note that this event is available in conjunction with the "Digital Travel Taiwan Fun" app game package. Download it on your phone and participate in digital interactive activities such as "Stamp Collection Treasure Hunt," "Fun Spin," "Lucky Scratch Lottery," and a special promotional area. Collect at least three stamps to receive a gift (valued at over NT$100) and a digital voucher ranging from NT$50 to NT$250.

▲ Driving
- Take Zhongshan Expressway [National Highway No. 1] and get off at Pitou [Beidou] Interchange. Then take Douyuan Road (150) westbound towards Erlin. It is about 13 kilometers away.

▲ Public Transportation
- Take the Taiwan Railway to Tianzhong Station. Transfer to Yuanlin Bus No. 6709 and get off at Jiuzhangbadou Station. Walk for about 10 minutes to arrive.
