Tour Overview

Small group of 6-8 people, departure location can be specified in Taipei City

Spend half a day enjoying the mountains, the sea, delicious food, and the local culture.

Qingtiangang Grassland, also known as the Sun Valley, lies in the center of the Datun Mountain Range, between Zhuzishan, Qigushan, Dingshan, and Huangzuishan. Its flat terrain is formed from terraces formed by lava from Zhugaoshan Mountain. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese established the Dalingzhi Ranch here for tea cultivation and grazing. After Taiwan's restoration, the government established the Yangmingshan Ranch based on the original Dalingzhi Ranch area, encompassing the Qingtiangang and Lengshuikeng areas. This ranch is now managed by the Taipei City Farmers' Association. Today, cattle grazing on Qingtiangang can be seen, fostered by farmers from Beitou, Shilin, and Jinshan. Qingtiangang's flat terrain and rolling, lush grasslands make it an ideal natural learning environment for observing grassland landscapes. The rolling green slopes and trails through rounded, low-growing trees are impressive, making it a popular outing destination in Yangmingshan National Park.

▲ Lion's Head Mountain

Originally a military stronghold, Lion's Head Mountain Park lies at the end of a ridge of the Yangmingshan Range, between the mouths of the Huangxi and Yuantanxi rivers. Its strategic location was only revealed after its transformation into a tourist destination. It's a prime North Coast seascape hideaway. The Candlestick Twin Islets, one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Jinshan, are easily visible. There's also a free hot spring foot bath, known only to locals. Enjoy both mountain and sea views.

▲ Jinshan Old Street

Jinshan Old Street (Jinbaoli Old Street) is the only remaining Qing Dynasty street on the North Coast. With over 300 years of history, it was once the primary distribution center for Jinbaoli residents' agricultural and fishing products. At the morning market, you can buy local specialties like red-heart sweet potatoes and jumping stone taro, depending on their season. A visit to Jinbaoli Old Street is a must-see for its many popular, time-honored delicacies and local specialties. Must-buy souvenirs include Yikousu (snack pastry) and Ayu Mabing (glutinous rice cake). There's also a wide selection of freshly prepared traditional dim sum, including sweet potato chips, brown sugar cakes, taro cakes, and nine-layer glutinous rice cakes. The popular duck stall at the entrance of Guang'an Temple, with its self-service food service, has become a unique local attraction. Whether you prefer sweet or savory, Jinshan Old Street has something to satisfy your taste buds.

Jinshan Old Street was once a distribution center for fish and agricultural products in the Jinshan area. Due to the relocation of provincial roads, the center of Jinshan's market shifted to Zhongshan Road, and Jinbaoli Street gradually declined. However, this has also preserved traditional barber shops, rice shops, cloth shops, and general stores, giving the street a uniquely old-fashioned feel. Besides its renowned duck, the street also boasts high-quality and affordable sweet potatoes, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and taro cakes, making them a must-see. In addition, soaking in Jinshan's hot springs and walking the Fish Road Historic Trail are both great ways to start the year, refreshing the mind and body and stretching the muscles.

Jinshan Old Street boasts numerous popular shops, including "Jin Baoli Duck" near the temple entrance, "Shizilin Cake Shop," renowned for its crispy, mochi-flavored pastries and handmade egg rolls, "Ayu Mochi," a popular taro flavor, "Snow Leopard Ice City," and "Candied Sweet Potato," a Jinshan specialty—don't miss it!
