Tour Overview

The Yuanzui Mountain Trail in Taichung is famous for its steep cliffs. Along the way, there are cliffs, complex forests and many forks. It is an interesting hiking trail.

Because this trail is very challenging and requires good physical fitness and courage to complete, it is recommended to assess your own condition before signing up for this trip

The Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area, located in central Taiwan, is rich in forest resources. Wildlife such as muntjacs and Taiwan wild goats (long-haired goats) are common here. You may also see birds such as imperial pheasants, blue-bellied pheasants, and Taiwan mountain partridges (deep mountain bamboo partridges).

The Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area is located in Heping District, Taichung City, Taiwan, approximately a two-hour drive from downtown Taichung. The Daxueshan National Forest Recreation Area boasts a detailed and complete forest landscape, encompassing a diverse and complete range of plant species. This provides an excellent habitat for wildlife, where you can often encounter species such as muntjacs, Taiwan wild goats (long-haired goats), and white-faced flying squirrels. Explore the park's trails and leisurely visit famous attractions such as the Snow Mountain Sacred Tree and Tianchi Lake.

The next day, we tackled Yuanzui Mountain, hailed as Taiwan's most beautiful intermediate mountain. Standing at 2,180 meters, the ascent requires both hands and feet, along with a climbing rope, to traverse nearly 90-degree vertical ridges, conquering one's fear of heights. The rock formations contain layers of white lime, which shimmer in the sunlight. The summit offers excellent views, a true visual delight. After reaching the summit, you'll have to traverse steep cliffs before descending, a climb that demands both physical strength and courage.
