Tour Overview

Visit Hehuan Mountain, the most accessible 3,000-meter mountain in the Central Mountain Range of central Taiwan

The alpine flowers on Hehuan Mountain bloom in summer, embellishing the green mountain with colorful beauty.

Pick-up at Taichung High Speed Rail Station and Cingjing Farm, and a day trip to Huihuan Mountain

The Hehuanshan Mountain range is located in central Taiwan, on the border of Hualien and Nantou counties. It consists of seven connected peaks, characterized by fir forests and bamboo meadows, endemic to Taiwan. The road to Hehuanshan is accessible by car, making it one of the most accessible of Taiwan's 100 Peaks. (*The 100 Peaks of Taiwan are selected by renowned mountaineers to represent 100 peaks over 3,000 meters in elevation, characterized by unique, steep, and beautiful scenery, and with distinctly tapering peaks.)

Winter attracts many visitors due to the snowfall. In spring and summer, the Hehuanshan Mountains are a vibrant spectacle of blooming flowers along the way!

Alpine flowers are a key ecological feature of Hehuanshan. The diverse terrain and abundant rainfall have enriched the mountain with unique alpine plants. In spring and summer, the Yushan azalea, red-haired azalea, and safflower, along with Taiwan lilies, Japanese knotweed, goldenrod, and Yushan sedge in midsummer, and Taiwan monkshood and Yushan pink in autumn, add a vibrant and beautiful touch to the mountaintops. A one-day flower viewing itinerary to Hehuan Mountain will adjust the peak-climbing route based on the blooming season.

- Attraction Introduction -

▲ Hehuanshan National Forest Recreation Area
Taiwan's first national forest recreation area boasts numerous high peaks, including Hehuan Main Peak, Hehuan East Peak, Hehuan Jianshan, and Shimenshan. The area boasts a rare forest boundary, where coniferous forests over 3,000 meters tall meet Yushan arrow bamboo, creating a rare forest boundary. From Hehuan East or North Peak, you can spot the endemic Taiwan juniper (Yushan juniper), a species that braves frost, snow, and strong winds to ascend the mountaintops, adding a touch of poetic beauty to the mountaintops.

▲ Hehuan East Peak Trail
Hehuan East Peak is the second highest peak in the Hehuan Group, rising 3,421 meters. Its majestic, soaring peak offers expansive views from the summit, and it takes about an hour to reach the summit. The Hehuan East Peak Trail offers distinct scenery throughout the seasons. The trail is located where the Yushan Rhododendron population is most concentrated. During the blooming seasons of May and June, the mountain is ablaze with vibrant colors.

▲ North Hehuan Mountain Trail
North Hehuan Mountain, at 3,422 meters, is the highest peak in the Hehuan Group. The round trip from the trailhead to the summit takes approximately four to five hours. Hehuan North Peak offers the best view of the red-haired azaleas. Upon entering the trailhead, you're surrounded by a magnificent sea of red-haired azaleas.
