Visiting a forest has never been easier! Neidong National Forest Recreation Area is located in Wulai District, New Taipei City, in northern Taiwan, about an hour's drive from Taipei Main Station. Within this lush natural forest and majestic waterfalls, stroll through the area, enjoying a rich phytoncides and negative ion bathing experience, and get up close to tree ferns dating back to the Jurassic period.

Wulai is inhabited by the Atayal people, the northernmost Austronesian settlement in the world. Enjoy indigenous cuisine and learn trapping and archery from an Atayal hunter, experiencing the life of an Atayal hunter!

▲ Neidong National Forest Recreation Area
Neidong National Forest Recreation Area is the most accessible national forest in the Greater Taipei area. Located at an altitude of approximately 230 to 800 meters, it is a low-altitude forest environment. The abundant water resources of the Nanshi and Neidong Rivers provide a favorable habitat and growth environment for flora and fauna, making it one of northern Taiwan's best birdwatching spots. The park is home to a rich variety of ferns and insects. Nearly 65 species of ferns can be found along the short waterfall-viewing trail alone, making it a natural learning experience accessible to the public.

Voted the most beautiful waterfall in Taiwan, Neidong Waterfall boasts a magnificent and captivating flow. A leisurely stroll along the gentle waterfall-viewing trail to the end reveals the distinct beauty of the upper and lower cascades, offering visitors a refreshing dose of negative ions and a diverse experience.

▲ Giving Tree Camp
Tucked away deep in the mountains, Giving Tree Camp is named after the camp's owner. "Giving Tree" in the Atayal language means the precious wood that survives in the mountains. The camp's owner hopes to contribute by collaborating with local tribal women and elders to preserve their tribal culture and provide employment opportunities. Visit the camp and learn about the Atayal hunters' reverence for and coexistence with nature through their daily lives, clothing, utensils, hunting techniques, and more.

Travel Notes

- To ensure traveler safety and quality, all tribal tours must be grouped.
- Children aged 3 and above must be accompanied by an adult, and children aged 3-8 must be accompanied by an adult. Seniors aged 80 and above must be accompanied by a family member.
- As the tour involves many natural activities, please wear comfortable, lightweight clothing and non-slip shoes. Some trails can be slippery, so please be careful when navigating the steps.
- Transportation will primarily be by chartered nine-person vehicles. Please meet at the designated location on the day of the tour on time. No refunds will be given if you become separated from the group or are unable to meet up due to personal reasons.
- Please bring your own sunscreen, mosquito repellent, rain gear, drinking utensils, and any other personal medications.
- The itinerary may require minor adjustments to the itinerary or attractions depending on the tour time, weather conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Tour Schedule: If the tour cannot be completed due to insufficient numbers, you will be notified before the tour to reschedule or receive a full refund. The organizer may request cancellation of this tour due to force majeure factors such as typhoons and earthquakes.
- Taiwan is beautiful because of its diverse ethnic cultures. Please open your heart and appreciate the beauty of cultural differences during your trip!
- To allow forest enthusiasts to cherish the land while minimizing impact on the environment, please adhere to Leave No Trace (LNT) guidelines: thorough planning and preparation, camping and walking in accessible locations, proper waste disposal, preserving the natural landscape, minimizing the impact of fire on the environment, respecting wildlife, and being considerate of other users.
- When entering any natural habitat, please avoid using perfumed skincare products or brightly colored clothing. Wear long sleeves and long pants to avoid being attacked by bees.
- To prevent the spread of rabies, visitors are prohibited from bringing dogs, cats, and other mammals into the national forest recreation area.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 41 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 5% handling fee.

Cancellations made 31-40 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 10% handling fee.

Cancellations made 21-30 days (including the 30th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2-20 days (including the 20th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1 day prior to the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2 days prior to the start of the trip will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1 day prior to the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Refunds are not available on the start date of the trip.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Requests for rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons beyond the organizer's control, no refund will be given.
