Taitung's Shiyusan (Stone Umbrella) is a unique scenic spot along the Taiwan Provincial Highway 11. The Shiyusan kayaking experience takes you out to sea for a unique viewing of the Shiyusan. In addition to the Shiyusan kayaking experience, your instructor will also guide you through the rich intertidal ecosystem, including spotting wave crabs and mudskippers, as well as exploring volcanic mud and diving for a coming-of-age ceremony. With so much value, you'll never run out of time!

Located north of Sanxiantai, the one-kilometer-long Shikongbi Cape juts out from the coast into the sea. The limestone, after being uplifted and eroded by waves, forms the Stone Umbrella's balancing rock formation, a pillar formed by the erosion of the underlying limestone. It firmly supports the larger coral reef above, resembling an umbrella. The Shikongbi Cape is also home to a variety of sea-eroded landforms, including sea gates and potholes, as well as a vibrant intertidal zone.

Travel Notes

The Stone Umbrella canoeing experience is open to children aged 8 and above, and a parent must accompany the child at all times (two children per canoe).

For safety reasons, please ensure you are in good health. Those with heart disease, major illnesses, cardiovascular disease, asthma, epilepsy, or pregnant women are advised not to register.

After the Stone Umbrella canoeing experience, indoor hot water will be provided for showering. Please prepare a towel and a change of clothes.

Life jackets are provided at all times during the Stone Umbrella canoeing experience, so even those who cannot swim can enjoy the experience.

The Stone Umbrella canoeing experience schedule is subject to change based on the availability of participants, facility conditions, and weather conditions on the day, with safety and overall quality being our top priority.

During the Stone Umbrella canoeing experience, please refrain from approaching dangerous areas without permission to avoid accidents caused by being unsupervised.

During the Stone Umbrella canoeing experience, please follow the instructions of the instructor and tour leader if weather or conditions are unfavorable. During the Stone Umbrella canoeing experience, please practice teamwork and assist your teammates. Do not wander off on your own.

The company reserves the right to alter or postpone the itinerary due to force majeure factors such as typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rain, and road conditions, including postponement or cancellation.

Tour Pricing

The cost includes:

- Full kayaking equipment: two people per kayak, paddles, life jackets, helmets, and non-slip shoes
- Professional instructor
- Ocean tour commentary
- Photo recording of the activity
- Insurance coverage throughout the activity

The cost does not include:

Any expenses not mentioned in this itinerary, any self-funded expenses or any expenses derived from the itinerary.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations after booking will be subject to a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations between 20 and 8 days (including the 20th day) before the start of the trip will be subject to a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations between 7 and 1 day (including the 7th day) before the start of the trip will be subject to a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made on the day of the trip are not eligible for a refund.

Rescheduling requests due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.

If participation in the event is cancelled due to reasons beyond the organizer's control, no refund will be given.

In the event of force majeure such as natural disasters, Tripbaa will proactively notify you of any postponement or refund.
