Penghu's most famous attraction, Xiaomen Whale Cave, gets its name from its resemblance to a whale's head emerging from the water. Originally a basalt sea cliff, Xiaomen Whale Cave was eroded by the sea, eventually becoming the sea arch it is today. Xiaomen Whale Cave offers a glimpse into the evolution of sea erosion and is a must-see attraction on Xiaomen Island in Penghu.

Travel Notes

The best time to participate in Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave kayaking is approximately April to October.

The Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave kayaking trip covers a distance of approximately 4 kilometers (following the current). Basic physical fitness and outdoor experience are recommended. Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by an adult.

As you may get wet during Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave kayaking, please bring a change of clothes. Changes of clothes can be left in the base lobby, and valuables should be placed in a waterproof bag (one per boat).

If you wear glasses, we recommend contact lenses or glasses straps.

As Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave kayaking is a sea activity, seasickness may occur. Please ensure you get enough sleep the day before to maximize your experience!

- Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave Kayaking: Photos taken during the event will be shared on our website. Participants must consent to their likeness being used during the event and agree to its free sharing. If they do not consent, please inform us immediately on site.

- A separate pre-trip notification will be sent via email before departure for the Xiaomen Whale Cave Kayaking activity, with relevant precautions. Please pay special attention to your member inbox.
- The Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave Kayaking activity takes place in open waters. Life jackets must be worn at all times and the instructor's instructions must be followed. If you are unable to complete the trip due to personal reasons (e.g., physical condition), the trip will be considered forfeited and no refund will be given.
- The Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave Kayaking activity will be canceled the day before if the sea forecast indicates excessively high winds and waves.
- If it is determined after on-site check-in that the trip cannot be carried out, a fixed-point experience (500 USD/person) will be offered instead, with the difference refunded after the trip. Alternatively, you can choose to cancel the activity and receive a full refund.

The cost does not include:

Any expenses not specified in this Penghu Xiaomen Whale Cave canoeing activity, any self-funded expenses or any expenses incurred during the itinerary

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 7 days prior to the start of the trip will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made 4-6 days (including the 6th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1-3 days (including the 3rd day) prior to the start of the trip will not receive a refund.

Cancellations made on the start date of the trip will not receive a refund.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed a cancellation and will be handled in accordance with the above cancellation policy.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, no refund will be given.
