▲Chichihama Beach, Japan's Sky Mirror

Selected as one of Japan's "100 Best Sunsets," this beach boasts a length of approximately 1 kilometer and calm waters, attracting numerous bathers every summer. During low tide in spring, you can enjoy sweeping views of the Seto Inland Sea from the shore. Its mirror-like surface has earned it the nickname "Japan's Uyuni Salt Lake."

Kotohira-gu Shrine is famous for enshrining the sea guardian deity known as "Kinra," who is believed to bring health, protection from disasters, and good fortune. Since ancient times, Kotohira-gu Shrine has been a popular shrine. Located on the slopes of Mount Elephant's Head, the shrine boasts a long approach, with 785 stone steps leading to the main shrine on the mountainside. From the front of the shrine, one can overlook the Sanuki Plain. The Treasure House houses treasures such as the 11-faced Kannon, and the Art Reference Hall showcases various arts and crafts donated and presented by devotees.

Kurashiki was once a rice shipping port, and the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a water town formed by the ancient canal. During the Meiji era, a princess married into a wealthy local family. To appease her homesickness, the area was remodeled to resemble the streets of Edo. Both banks are lined with century-old houses, warehouses, and Western-style buildings, along with ten bluestone arch bridges. Endless cherry blossoms and willow trees line the riverbanks, their reflections reflected on the Kurashiki River, creating a beautiful scene.

▲ Tottori Sand Dunes
The Tottori Sand Dunes, located in eastern Tottori Prefecture, stretch from Mount Shichi in the east to Cape Keta in the west. They are approximately 16 kilometers long from east to west and 2.4 kilometers wide from north to south, making them the largest sand dunes in Japan. These are formed by volcanic ash that fell onto the Chiyogawa River, then pounded by the winds and waves of the Sea of Japan over 100,000 years of natural creation. The dunes range from depressions up to 40 meters deep to hills as high as 50 meters. Strong winds create patterns called wind ripples, while sand cascades down the dune surface like avalanches, creating a magnificent, ever-changing landscape.

▲Miyajima – Itsukushima Shrine

Famous for its location in the sea, the shrine we see today was rebuilt by Taira no Kiyomori in 1168. Itsukushima Shrine enshrines the god of the sea. In addition to the main shrine, which houses the main deity, it also boasts a Noh stage and a long bridge. All the buildings are connected by a nearly 300-meter-long vermilion corridor, interspersed with carved beams and painted pillars, creating a magnificent and elegant scene.

▲Okunoshima Island, Rabbit Island

Okunoshima's geographical location made it a convenient base for the Japanese military to hide, leading to its selection as a testing ground for chemical weapons production. Its disappearance from maps earned it the nickname "the island that disappeared from the map." After the war, eight wild rabbits from an elementary school were released here. These rabbits, thriving under favorable conditions, have become a unique feature of the island. Currently, there are over 300 rabbits living on the island.

The Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Site, the only building that survived the explosion, remains as a memorial to the atomic bomb and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. After World War II, a group led by Japanese architect Kenzo Tange designed the site as the Peace Memorial Park, which was completed in 1954.
