▲ Izumo Taisha Shrine

Famous for wealth and marriage, Okuninushi no Mikoto (Okuninushi no Mikoto) boasts a majestic and expansive shrine grounds, encompassing the main shrine, the treasury, the worship hall, the bronze torii gate, and the treasure house. The main shrine, a massive 24-meter-tall wooden structure, is said to be Japan's oldest shrine architectural style, and has been designated a National Treasure. Surrounded by the towering Yakumo Mountain, the main shrine offers a breathtaking view of a magical wonderland, offering a chance encounter with a deity.

Located in eastern Tottori Prefecture, the Tottori Sand Dunes stretch from Mt. Shichi in the east to Cape Keta in the west. Approximately 16 kilometers long from east to west and 2.4 kilometers wide from north to south, they are Japan's largest sand dunes. These are the volcanic ash that fell onto the mud and sand of the Chiyo River, then battered by the winds and waves of the Sea of Japan, creating a masterpiece of nature over 100,000 years. The dunes range from depressions up to 40 meters deep to hills as high as 50 meters. There are patterns called wind ripples, created by strong winds, and curtains of sand that slide down the dune surface like an avalanche. The magnificent dunes are in constant flux.

Located at the foot of Mt. Daisen, Japan's largest flower park, the park is renowned for its first 1-kilometer-long observation corridor, hot spring flowers housed in a circular glass pavilion, and a massive 10,000-square-meter flower mound. The flowers cultivated here are all native to the United States, Australia, Asia, Africa, and Europe.

▲Sakaiminato, the hometown of Gegege no Kitaro

Sakaiminato was an important port during the Edo period and a major trading post between Japan and Korea during the Meiji era. Producing seafood such as saury, snow crab, and tuna, Sakaiminato is also known as the "capital of yokai" for two generations of Japanese. Sakaiminato-born manga artist Shigeru Mizuki gained national fame for his work "GeGeGe no Kitaro." One of the city's main shopping streets is designated "Mizuki Shigeru Road," lined with 139 bronze statues of yokai. The Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum showcases his manga and models, allowing you to immerse yourself in the world of Gegege no Kitaro.

Gosho Aoyama, the creator of the world-renowned manga "Detective Conan," was born in Hokuei, Tottori Prefecture. This museum houses Mr. Aoyama's works, including Detective Conan. The museum displays his childhood works, as well as inventions and magic tricks that appear in "Detective Conan." Here, you can enjoy and experience his works.
