- Attraction Introduction | One-Day Moss Phlox Festival Tour -

▲ Mount Fuji Shibazakura Festival
Holding exclusively from April to May each year, the Mount Fuji Shibazakura Festival is one of the biggest events of the Fuji Five Lakes region. The vibrant moss phlox, juxtaposed against the majestic Mount Fuji, is a must-see for photographers who love cherry blossom photography!

In addition to the vibrant blooms of eight varieties of moss phlox, the park also features an observation deck, footbaths, a cafe, and a food festival, offering a relaxing break while enjoying the moss phlox.

▲Mount Fuji
Mount Fuji is an active volcano straddling Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures, approximately 80 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. Its summit, at 3,776 meters, is Japan's highest peak. Snow accumulates on the summit in winter, remaining there until June or July. It is managed within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park in Honshu. Mount Fuji is not only listed among Japan's 100 Famous Mountains but also one of Japan's Three Great Mountains. Its name is derived from the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

World-renowned Mount Fuji is a symbol of Japan and considered sacred. Ancient texts refer to it as Fuji, Fujin, or Fuji, and it is often referred to as Furong-ho or Fuyue. Since ancient times, the mountain's name has frequently appeared in traditional Japanese poetry, known as waka.

Five freshwater lakes, collectively known as the Fuji Five Lakes, are scattered around the foothills of Mount Fuji, making them a renowned tourist destination in Japan. Mount Fuji has four main entrances: Fujinomiya, Subashiri, Gotemba, and Fujiyoshida (Kawaguchiko). The first three are located in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Mount Fuji, along with cherry blossoms and the Shinkansen, is a national symbol of Japan. Due to its inherent allure and its status in Japan, Mount Fuji has long been sought as a World Heritage Site. The Japanese government resubmitted its nomination for World Heritage status in 2012 and was successfully inscribed on June 22, 2013, making Mount Fuji Japan's 17th World Heritage Site (and 13th World Cultural Heritage).
