Okinawa Nago Zoo and Botanical Gardens, covering 250,000 square meters, is Japan's only theme park dedicated to both animals and plants. The park features a diverse collection of rare birds from Africa, Oceania, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Don't miss the capybaras, a beloved and captivating sight. A highlight of the park is the touch plaza, where you can interact with the animals up close and personal. Previously, animals could only be viewed in cages, but now, you can touch and feed them. The park is a perfect choice for a family outing.

The park features a train that circumnavigates the park, along with many other amenities, including a restaurant, a friendship plaza, a touch plaza, and an underwater tunnel. A train package is available. This railway is a replica of the original 1914 railway line between Naha and Nago. A circuit of the park takes about 20 minutes, offering a quick overview of the park.

Travel Notes

- Okinawa Nago Zoo and Botanical Gardens opening hours are: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM (last entry: 5:00 PM).
- Children under 4 years old are admitted free of charge, but must be accompanied by a companion.
- This unused e-ticket can be refunded or changed free of charge before the expiration date.
- The official website reserves the right of final decision regarding exchange.
- The Okinawa Nago Zoo and Botanical Gardens admission ticket is valid for admission within 90 days of the designated date and will be invalid after the expiration date.
- The park train operates from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, departing every 30 minutes.
- Separate train tickets are not available at this station; however, they can be purchased within the park: Adults (over 13 years old) are JPY 660, and children aged 4-12 are JPY 440.
- Okinawa Nago Zoo and Botanical Gardens has a special area for children aged 4 and above to interact with small animals. Tickets are JPY300 and can be purchased at the park.

From Naha Bus Terminal, take Highway Bus No. 111 to Nago Bus Terminal. From there, take a taxi to Nago Zoo and Botanical Gardens (approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes).
