-Attraction Introduction | Tokyo's Five Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in One Day-

▲Chidorigafuchi
Chidorigafuchi is a moat northwest of the Imperial Palace, located next to Kitanomaru Park. Its name comes from its resemblance to a thousand birds fluttering their wings, ready to take flight. Hundreds of cherry blossom trees line the promenade and embankment along the river. Every spring, the blossoms are in full bloom, creating a breathtaking spectacle. It's one of Tokyo's three most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, along with Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and Ueno Park. A boat ride on Chidorigafuchi offers a truly unique experience.

Strolling along the Chidorigafuchi Greenway, you'll be greeted by the sight of beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom, creating a truly romantic experience, as if you've entered a cherry blossom tunnel. As the spring breeze blows, cherry blossom petals drift across the promenade and Chidorigafuchi River, creating a breathtakingly elegant spectacle.

▲ Yasukuni Shrine

Yasukuni Shrine is located in Kudanzaka, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, Japan. Built at the behest of Emperor Meiji, it honors servicemen and their families who died fighting for Japan since the Meiji Restoration. Until the end of World War II, Yasukuni Shrine was exclusively administered by the Japanese military and served as a symbol of State Shinto. After World War II, it was reorganized as a religious corporation, adhering to the postwar constitutional principle of separation of church and state.

Since Emperor Meiji, Yasukuni Shrine has been the only place where the Emperor of Japan bows. Since 1978, the Emperor has not visited the shrine, following the controversy surrounding the incarnation of 14 Class-A war criminals from World War II.

▲Zojoji Temple
Zojoji Temple boasts a history of over 600 years. Since the Edo period, it served as the family temple of the Tokugawa clan and has become a renowned temple in Japan. Six of the Tokugawa clan's military commanders are buried within the temple. With the famous Tokyo Tower nearby, it's a popular photo spot during the spring cherry blossom season.

▲Sumida Park
Sumida Park is a leisurely stroll across the Sumida River, situated between Azumabashi and Sakurabashi. The remains of the Koume-tei, built by the Mito Tokugawa clan, are still in use today. It's also been selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Cherry Blossom Spots.

Approximately 700 cherry trees were planted within the park at the behest of the 8th Shogun, Tokugawa Yoshimune, creating a breathtaking spectacle when in full bloom. The cherry trees stretch along the Sumida River for approximately one kilometer. In the summer, the Sumida River hosts a fireworks display, drawing crowds as large as those for the cherry blossoms.

▲Ueno Park
Ueno Park is located in Ueno, Taito Ward, Tokyo, Japan. It is Japan's first public park, covering approximately 530,000 square meters. The entire park was designated a park in 1873 and officially opened in 1876. Originally belonging to the Japanese imperial family, it was granted to the city of Tokyo by Emperor Taisho in 1924, hence the name "Enshi."

Ueno Park is home to the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Western Art, the National Science Museum, and Ueno Zoo.

The plateau known as Shinobazuka has become a renowned cherry blossom viewing spot in modern times, selected as one of Japan's 100 most famous cherry blossom spots, attracting numerous visitors. Furthermore, Shinobazu Pond, located south of Shinobazuka, boasts abundant lotus blossoms in summer. In winter, ducks and other waterfowl flock to the area to roost.
