Kakunodate, nestled between Akita City and Morioka City in Iwate Prefecture, developed early on as a castle town due to its prime location. Its tranquil atmosphere earned it the nickname "Oshu's Little Kyoto." Kakunodate still retains the architectural heritage of its time, reflecting its prosperity and ensuring the elegance of the past continues to this day. A samurai residence is a former samurai residence. Several samurai residences are preserved in Japan, and Kakunodate's is one of the most well-preserved. Not only are the buildings themselves, but the surrounding streets are also rich in history. Kakunodate is designated a National Important Preservation Area for Traditional Buildings and is a significant cultural heritage site. Kakunodate Town is renowned for its cherry blossoms, not only being one of the three most famous cherry blossoms in Mutsu but also one of the top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots.

Not far from the samurai residence is the Hinochi River, which flows through the center of Kakunodate Town. In spring, the 400 cherry trees along the riverbank, set against the backdrop of the Ou Mountains, create a picturesque scene of endless cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms along the Hinochi River Cherry Blossom Bank were planted in 1934 to celebrate the birth of Emperor Imamizu, making it a must-see cherry blossom viewing spot in Tohoku, Japan.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellation Policy for Local Day Tours in Japan

Cancellations made 12 days or more before the selected itinerary date will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made between 8 and 11 days before the selected itinerary date will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made between 3 and 7 days before the selected itinerary date will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made between 1 and 2 days before the selected itinerary date will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made between 0 and 10 days before the start of the itinerary will not receive a refund.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Requests for rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, no refund will be given.
