Osaka Castle Day Tour

Osaka Castle was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi after he unified Japan in 1583. The entire construction took 15 years and employed 130,000 people. It is four to five times larger than its current size. One of Japan's three most famous castles, along with Nagoya Castle and Kumamoto Castle, it was designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1997 and remains a symbol of Osaka.

Besides the Osaka Castle tower, the entire ruins are home to facilities such as Osaka Castle Park, Nishinomaru Gardens, Osaka Castle Music Hall, Osaka Castle Concert Hall, Osaka Castle Archery Field, Shudokan, and the Osaka International Peace Center. The tower, nestled in the center, functions as a small but charming museum, housing numerous historical artifacts and documents related to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the Warring States period.

The first floor introduces the life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi; the second floor displays various materials on Osaka Castle and Japanese castles; the third and fourth floors introduce historical materials on Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the Warring States period; the fifth floor uses images and models to illustrate the fierce battle of the Osaka Summer Campaign; the seventh floor depicts Toyotomi Hideyoshi's achievements in unifying Japan and the construction of Osaka Castle; the eighth floor boasts a 50-meter-high observation deck, offering panoramic views of Osaka Castle Park and the cityscape of Osaka.
