Every winter, the frozen river ice flows back to the sea. The waves pound and impact the ice, smoothing its edges. Under the sunlight, the rounded jewel ice forms, as clear as crystal. It's hard to imagine that even ice could have such beautiful shapes.

Around 5:30 AM, we headed to Lake Akan in front of the hotel to search for the rare frost flowers. These can only be seen in the early morning hours of winter, when temperatures drop below -15 degrees Celsius. When the sun rises, the thin ice on the lake's surface rises, creating frost crystals. Because the conditions for frost flowers to form are very strict, visitors who manage to see them are truly lucky!
