[Groups Completed! Last 3 Seats Left!] Mount Fuji's Fifth Station, located midway up the mountain, marks the end of the Fuji Subaru Line and offers a stunning view of the summit. This breathtaking scenery can only be enjoyed from the Fifth Station. Stretching across Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures, Mount Fuji stands at 3,776 meters, Japan's highest peak. Every summer, it attracts numerous climbers seeking to witness the breathtaking sunrise.

▲ Summiting Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak, a World Heritage Site ~ Welcoming the Blessings of the Goraikō
After reaching the summit of Mount Fuji, admire the sunrise from the summit, the Goraikō (Goraikō). The Japanese believe that witnessing the Goraikō brings good luck and blessings for the entire year! As the sun slowly rises, its golden light piercing the sea of clouds, the magnificent and moving moment will become an unforgettable memory.

▲ Exclusive Special Seats for the Fujisan Divine Flame Festival ~ Watch the sacred flame palanquin sail across the Kanda River
Mount Fuji has experienced numerous eruptions since ancient times, and the residents of Fujinomiya City have a deep reverence for it, deeming it the "Mountain of God." To quell the eruptions, residents built a shrine dedicated to Sengen Okami. The flames at Mount Fuji's Okumiya were called "Divine Flame," hence the name "Fujisan Divine Flame Festival." The festival originally served as a way to thank Mount Fuji for its blessings and to quell the mighty forces of nature. The sacred flames were brought back from the summit and quelled with water from the Okudama Pond. The highlight of the festival, the "Kanda River Upstream," can be viewed up close from the exclusive, premium seating area, "Sashiki Seats." Participants carrying the palanquin will splash water from the Kanda River onto the audience, creating a lively atmosphere.

The festival utilizes eight portable shrines, each weighing between 800 kilograms and one ton, and each requires 60 to 100 people to carry.

▲ Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine

The main deity enshrined at Sengen Taisha Shrine is Sengen Okami, revered for his miraculous power in calming the eruption of Mount Fuji. As devotion to Mount Fuji spread, Sengen Taisha Shrine became the head shrine of over 1,300 Sengen shrines nationwide and the center of Mount Fuji worship. Popular worship of Mount Fuji dates back to the Muromachi period (1392-1573) and has flourished since the Edo period (1600-1868) to the present day. Taisha Shrine, where the shrine currently stands, is known as the "main gate" of Mount Fuji.

The festival begins at Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Shrine and features prayers, parades, mikoshi (portable shrines), stage performances, dances, and the highlight of the festival, the "Kanda River Upstream Ride."

▲ Shizuoka World Heritage Center
The building's exterior is inspired by the conical shape of Mount Fuji, creating a unique exterior. The facility includes exhibition halls, an educational area, event venues, and a gift shop. Exhibits within the center explain the history, geography, ecology, and cultural significance of Mount Fuji, and feature interactive multimedia displays, models, and artifacts to provide a deeper understanding of the mountain. Guided tours and explanations are available in multiple languages to ensure a pleasant visitor experience, and various events and workshops are organized to allow visitors to experience the charm of Mount Fuji more interactively.

▲ Shiraito Falls
A National Scenic Spot and Natural Monument of Japan, it is also part of the "Mount Fuji - An Object of Worship and a Source of Art" World Cultural Heritage. Approximately 20 meters high and 150 meters wide, the waterfall cascades down a curving cliff face, resembling strands of white silk suspended from the rock face. Sourced from a spring gushing from Mount Fuji, the waterfall's instantaneous flow reaches 1.5 tons per second, making it the largest waterfall at the foot of Mount Fuji. Descending the wide steps in front of the observation deck brings you to the waterfall's pool, where you can experience its mighty power and mysterious atmosphere up close. Accessible access allows wheelchair users to view the falls from the observation deck. On the way from the parking lot to Shiraito Falls, visitors can also admire another waterfall, Otoshitaki Falls, which has a drop of approximately 25 meters and is approximately 5 meters wide. Along with Shiraito Falls, it is listed as one of Japan's 100 Greatest Waterfalls.
