Miyama-no-sato, known as Kyoto's Gassho Village, will be illuminated in 2026. The Miyama-no-sato Illumination - Miyama Thatched-no-sato Winter Light Gallery will feature Chinese-speaking tour guides. The Miyama-no-sato Illumination will feature fireworks, and Chinese-speaking Japanese guides will provide engaging explanations, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the Miyama-no-sato illumination area.

Kyoto's Miyama is an important area for the preservation of traditional Japanese architecture. Its winter-only thatched-roof illumination rivals Shirakawa-go's. Miyama Town is also one of Japan's three largest thatched-roof villages, and the short illumination period is a sight not to be missed! The combination of white snow and the pristine Japanese countryside is a true winter delight. Visit the "Snow Lanterns" at Miyama's Thatched Roof Village. The Miyama-no-Sato Illumination Festival takes place during the winter. The sight of snow-covered rooftops and the vibrant lights of Miyama Town is a sight you can only see during this season! - About the Scenic Spot | Amanohashidate -
There are two legends about how it got its name: "Amanohashidate." One says that if you stand on the hills between Hiryukan (the southern end of the sandbar) and Kasamatsu Park (the northern end), bend down, and look down from your crotch, the long sandbar will appear like a bridge extending diagonally toward the sky. This unique situation gave it its name. Another says that the god Izanagi constructed a large floating bridge in the sky to facilitate access to the goddess Izanami's residence. One day, Izanami was staying on earth when a floating bridge collapsed, sending her plummeting to the surface. This is now Amanohashidate.

Located on the Kyōgo Peninsula north of Kyoto, Ine is a tranquil, rustic fishing village nestled along the water and hillsides of Ine Bay, stretching for nearly 5 kilometers. The village's most distinctive feature is its 230-plus funaya (traveling boats) dating back to the Edo period, a sight unseen on other Japanese coasts.
