If you're tired of the crowds of Kyoto and Osaka, a trip to Kaizu-Osaki, Shiga, near Kyoto, is the perfect choice. Shiga Prefecture, home to Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake, boasts a 4-kilometer-long shoreline lined with cherry blossom trees. The cherry blossoms in Shiga, Kyoto, typically bloom later than in Kyoto, around mid-April. The fully bloomed cherry blossoms at Kaizu-Osaki have been selected as one of Japan's 100 Famous Cherry Blossom Spots!

▲ Kehi Jingu Shrine
Located in Tsuruga City, Kehi Jingu Shrine is said to have been built in 702 AD, giving it a history of over 1,300 years. Its 11-meter-tall torii gate, built in 1645, is a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan. Kehi Jingu enshrines seven deities, each serving as the guardian deities of the Hokuriku region. The clear water "Long Life Water" gushing from the shrine's grounds is said to bless people with health and safety, making it a renowned power spot.

Travel Notes

╴ Lunch is not included in the tour, but a 1,000 yen ticket is included for each participant to enjoy local delicacies such as seafood rice bowls at Nihonkai Fish Market.
╴ The Kyoto Shiga Cherry Blossom Viewing Day Tour may be slightly delayed due to weather conditions.
╴ Depending on the strawberry harvest and weather conditions, the tour may be modified to include pre-picked strawberries (30 minutes). In this case, we will notify you as soon as possible.
╴ The strawberry picking tour will not be canceled due to rain, but umbrellas may not be allowed on the farm. We recommend bringing raincoats and other rain gear, and wearing comfortable shoes if possible.
╴ The itinerary may be adjusted due to road conditions, and the tour leader will make arrangements on the day.
╴ Due to road conditions, the duration of stops at attractions may be adjusted or some attractions may be cancelled. The return arrival time may also be significantly delayed. Please note this.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellation Policy for Local Day Tours in Japan

Cancellations made 12 days or more before the selected itinerary date will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made between 8 and 11 days before the selected itinerary date will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made between 3 and 7 days before the selected itinerary date will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made between 1 and 2 days before the selected itinerary date will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made between 0 and 10 days before the start of the itinerary will not receive a refund.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Requests for rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, no refund will be given.
