Tour Overview
The JR Tohoku-South Hokkaido Rail Pass is a special pass designed for non-Japanese passport holders (for short-term stays in Japan of up to 90 days). This pass grants unlimited travel on JR Hokkaido and JR East lines within the JR East-South Hokkaido Rail Pass area.
Recommended for travelers who want to fully explore the "Six Prefectures of Tohoku and South Hokkaido," saving time traveling in and out of Tokyo and offering convenient access to Sendai and New Chitose Airports!
Exchange Period: Within three months of purchase
[Effectiveness]
Within the free area, this pass grants unlimited free travel on reserved seats in ordinary cars on limited express trains (including Shinkansen), express trains, and local trains (including rapid trains) of the following companies.
●JR Hokkaido Lines (Southern Hokkaido Area)
●JR East Lines (Tohoku Area) (including BRT*)
●All Aomori Railway Lines
●All IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway Lines
●All Sendai Airport Railway Lines
※Cannot ride the Southern Hokkaido ISARIBI Railway between Goryokaku and Kikonai.
※Cannot ride JR buses.
※Some sections and trains are suspended due to the Great East Japan Earthquake and other disasters.
※Cannot ride in Green (First Class), GranClass, private cars, LINER trains, or sleeper cars.
To use Green (First Class), GranClass, private cars, LINER trains, or sleeper cars, you must purchase separate tickets for limited express trains and sleeper cars.

Travel Notes
‧Must exchange for a valid ticket at the designated locations within three months of the issue date. No refunds will be given after this date (e.g., if the exchange voucher is issued on April 15th, it must be exchanged by July 14th).
‧Unlimited travel on any five days within 14 days of the exchange date, including reserved and non-reserved seats in ordinary cars on the following JR East (Tohoku region) and JR Hokkaido (Southern region) Shinkansen, Limited Express, Express, and local trains (including Rapid) on the following JR Hokkaido lines:
- JR Hokkaido Lines
- All JR East lines (BRT buses)
- All Aonomori Railway lines
- All IGR Iwate Galaxy Railway lines
- All Sendai Airport Railroad lines
※ Not valid on the Southern Eastern ISARIBI Railway (Goryokaku-Kikonai section) or JR buses.
‧If you disembark along the route or board any other type of train outside the applicable range, please pay the applicable fares at the time of departure according to JR East/JR Hokkaido regulations.

·After purchasing this pass, you can reserve reserved seats on the Shinkansen and major limited express trains on the JR East official website.
·BRT stands for Bus Rapid Transit System.

·This JR Pass is valid only for ordinary carriages. It does not include Green (First Class), GranClass, private carriages, LINER, or sleeper cars.
·To use Green (First Class), GranClass, private carriages, LINER, or sleeper cars, you must purchase separate tickets for limited express and sleeper cars. Please inquire with station staff for details.
·Once used, the pass cannot be extended or refunded due to train suspensions, delays, or other reasons.
‧This pass is for use only by the person named on it. It is not transferable.
‧Please be sure to bring your passport with you when boarding the train for ticket inspection.
‧The exchange certificate or pass cannot be reissued if lost, stolen, or damaged. Please keep it in a safe place.
‧Do not remove the sticker on the pass's backing sheet for attaching the magnetic ticket. You cannot board with only the magnetic ticket or the backing sheet.
‧Passengers with dual Japanese and foreign citizenship cannot use the pass when entering the country using a Japanese passport.
‧Passengers whose period of stay recorded in their passport is shorter than the valid period of the pass cannot purchase the pass.
Tour Pricing
The cost includes:
- Transportation, accommodation, insurance, meals, attraction entrance fees, and other expenses (tax included) as specified in the itinerary.
※ The company will not provide refunds if the traveler cancels the tour due to personal reasons.
The cost does not include:
- Expenses for transportation, meals, sightseeing tickets, etc. not listed in the itinerary, personal expenses (telephone calls, dry cleaning, beverages, etc.) and optional activities.
