Odong Island
When you think of Yeosu, Odong Island comes to mind, and when you think of Odong Island, you think of cypress flowers. Odong Island is not only famous for its cypress flowers, but also serves as the starting and ending point of Hallyeohaesang National Park. The island boasts a lush landscape of over 200 evergreen trees, including cypress trees. Additionally, the 16,529-square-meter (5,000-ping) grassy plaza features over 70 wild flower beds and a memorial tree planting park, perfect for children to learn about nature. The over 3,000 cypress trees that cover the island begin blooming as early as October, and the vibrant red blossoms continue to bloom throughout the winter. By mid-February, approximately 30% of the flowers will be in bloom, and by mid-March, a stunning sea of flowers will be visible.

Naganeupseong Fortress
Once part of the Mahan territory of the Three Han Dynasty, the Baekje Fortress, and the foundation of Nagan County during the Goryeo Dynasty, it now boasts a well-preserved Joseon Dynasty fortress wall, along with Dongheon, guesthouses, the monument to General Im Gyeong-eop, a market, and thatched houses. It is the first Korean fortress and village to be designated as a historical site. Unlike other fortresses, Naganeupseong Fortress is constructed from 1-2 meter rectangular natural stones on a vast plain. The wall measures 4 meters high, 3-4 meters wide, and 1,410 meters long. Including the rectangular residential areas for the three villages, east, west, and south, the total length is 135,537 square meters (41,000 pyeong). The wall is so sturdy that even after 400 years, it remains intact, its grandeur beyond words. This traditional village, home to local residents, offers both folklore research and historical education.
