Lake Shikotsu is about an hour's drive from Sapporo, Hokkaido, making it a great place for those traveling by car.

Lake Shikotsu boasts exceptional clarity and depth, and is surrounded by mountains such as Mount Eniwa, Mount Fufushi, and Mount Tarumae. Besides camping around the lake, visitors can also enjoy the "Wild Bird Forest," a place for bird watching. Consequently, Lake Shikotsu is known as a sacred spot for wild birds. The surrounding hot springs are known as "Beauty Hot Springs," where you can savor delicious dishes made with local ingredients like red trout.

Lake Shikotsu boasts some of the highest clarity and excellent water quality in Japan, making it a perfect place for a transparent-bottomed canoe!

Paddling a transparent-bottomed canoe allows you to spot the fish that inhabit the area while taking in the beautiful scenery of the surrounding nature.

Meet at the guesthouse Shikotsu Kamui (シコツ　カムイ) at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
You must check in at the meeting point. Please present your pre-printed reservation confirmation or the reservation confirmation screen on your phone. It is recommended to arrive 10 minutes early.

Lake Shikotsu Transparent Canoe Experience (60 minutes): From the source of the Chitose River to Lake Shikotsu

This lake boasts one of the highest transparency and excellent water quality in Japan. Paddling a transparent-bottomed canoe allows you to see the fish that inhabit the area while taking in the beautiful scenery of the surrounding nature.

Dismiss at the guesthouse Shikotsu Kamui (シコツ　カムイ) at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Children aged 4 and over can participate in this tour.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under 140 cm in height can only participate between July and September.

Pregnant women are not permitted.

1. The originally scheduled available dates for this tour may be temporarily canceled due to facility operating conditions or closures. Please note that this tour is not available on the reservation system.

2. This tour is an independent travel plan. Please check in at the meeting point on your own. When checking in, please present your pre-printed reservation confirmation or the reservation confirmation screen on your mobile phone.

3. Children aged 4-11 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 years old cannot participate in this tour. In addition, children under 140 cm in height cannot participate in April, October, or November.

4. The tour will depart even if it rains. However, in the event of severe weather such as a typhoon, the tour may be canceled. If you cancel the tour, please contact customer service within 30 days of the scheduled date and a full refund will be issued.
5. Please note that no refunds will be given if you fail to attend the tour due to personal reasons.
6. Recommended Clothing for the Tour:
Summer: Easy-drying tops and pants, or a complete sportswear, suitable for easy movement.
Spring and Autumn: Fleece-lined clothing and a warm outer layer. Please note that shoes may get wet during the tour.
7. Pickup and drop-off from the nearest station is not available.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 7 days prior to the start of the trip will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made 4-6 days (including the 6th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1-3 days (including the 3rd day) prior to the start of the trip will not receive a refund.

Cancellations made on the start date of the trip will not receive a refund.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed a cancellation and will be handled in accordance with the above cancellation policy.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, no refund will be given.

Getting There

Minshuku Shikostu Kamui

Getting There by Car
Located on "Shikotsuko Onsen" on your navigation system, head towards the Shikotsukohan Shopping Arcade parking lot.
Minshuku Shikostu Kamui is located in the center of the shopping arcade, and the sign for the guesthouse can be seen from the parking lot.
Approximately 70 minutes by car from Sapporo, 40 minutes from New Chitose Airport, and 30 minutes from Tomakomai.

Getting There by Bus
After getting off at the "Shikotsuko Onsen" bus stop, you'll see the shopping arcade on your left.
You'll see the guesthouse sign in the center of the road next to the parking lot.
The bus stop is about a one-minute walk away.

Getting There from New Chitose Airport
Take the Chuo Bus from the New Chitose Airport Domestic Bus No. 1 or 28 bus stop or the International Bus No. 66 bus stop. The journey takes approximately one hour.
From JR Chitose Station: Take the Chuo Bus from JR Chitose Station West Exit Bus Stop No. 3 for approximately 30 minutes. From JR Sapporo Station: Take the Rapid Airport Express bound for New Chitose Airport for approximately 30 minutes, then get off at JR Chitose Station. From there, take the Chuo Bus from JR Chitose Station West Exit Bus Stop No. 3 for approximately 30 minutes.
