The total length of the Twenty-ken Road is approximately 8 kilometers, with a width of approximately 36 meters. Because this width is exactly 20 kan (a unit of length used in Japanese shrines and temples, with 1 kan equal to 6 shaku, or 181.8 cm), this area is called Twenty-ken Road.
