The 2021 Shirakawa-go Gassho-style Village Folk House Lighting Event is a three-day special event. The vibrant silvery nightscape of the Minkaen Gassho-style houses illuminated by the lights is a sight only available at this time of year. The snow-covered Gassho-style houses under the bright moonlight, and the lighting ceremony are the highlight of any visit to the Gassho-style Village Folk House!

In conjunction with the Shirakawa-go Outdoor Museum, the night lighting event will feature the Minkaen Gassho-style houses illuminated at night, allowing you to savor the dreamlike beauty of the illuminations. Participate in the creation of a "Light Corridor," each receiving a candle to place within the snow walls. The Minkaen offers designated Japanese guided tours, and guests can enjoy the Shirakawa folk song performance "Kodaijin." Regional shopping vouchers and postcards will be distributed, and the local mascot, ShirakawaGO-kun, will be waiting to welcome everyone!

╴ This tour only includes the Minkaen Lighting and does not include the Shirakawa-go Gassho-style village illuminations.
╴ This tour does not allow entry to the Gassho-style village during the Minkaen Lighting. The Gassho-style village tour will be scheduled during daylight hours.
╴ The weather is very cold during the nighttime outdoor tour, so please dress warmly.
╴ The snowy trails are dim and difficult to navigate at night, so it is recommended to bring a flashlight.
╴ The road can be quite slippery, so please wear comfortable, non-slip, waterproof shoes.
╴ The amount of snow may vary depending on weather conditions.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 14 days before the start of the trip will receive a full refund (a $200 handling fee will be charged per order).

Cancellations made 7-13 days (including the 7th day) before the start of the trip will incur a 20% handling fee.

Cancellations made 4-6 days (including the 4th day) before the start of the trip will incur a 40% handling fee.

Cancellations made 3 days (including the 3rd day) before the start of the trip will not receive a refund.

Rescheduling requests due to personal reasons will be deemed cancellations and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy outlined above.

No refunds will be given if participants cancel their participation due to reasons not attributable to the organizer.

In the event of force majeure such as natural disasters, Tripbaa will proactively notify you of a postponement or refund.

A $200 handling fee will be charged for each refund.
