Tour Overview

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary - The closest koala zoo to the city center

The world's first koala sanctuary!
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary located in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. Ranked one of the "Top Ten Zoos in the World" by AOL and the largest koala sanctuary in the Guinness World Records, it's home to over 130 koalas. It's also an official photo op with koalas (purchase required).

"A Wildlife Sanctuary"
At Lone Pine Zoo, you can cuddle koalas, hand-feed kangaroos, and experience a variety of Australian wildlife.
"Escape from the hustle and bustle, yet stay close to the action"
Lone Pine Zoo is a premier Brisbane tourist attraction, just a 30-minute drive from Brisbane Airport and a 50-minute drive from the Gold Coast.

In the zoo's nearly 100-year history, countless political and business leaders and celebrities have come to Lone Pine to hold koalas, including former US President Johnson and his wife, the Pope, the Queen Mother of England, Pavarotti, Mariah Carey, and even the popular new generation band One Direction.
