The My Son Sanctuary is as impressive as the popular Angkor Wat.

The My Son Sanctuary comprises seventy massive temples and pagodas. Built between the 4th and 13th centuries AD, during the heyday of the Champa Kingdom, My Son is often compared to Cambodia's Angkor Wat due to its shared Champa architectural style. However, My Son Sanctuary dates back much earlier than Angkor Wat. Throughout the successive dynasties of the Champa Kingdom, various architectural styles evolved, including the Hoa Lai style of the 8th century, the Dong Duong style of the mid-9th century, the My Son style, and the My Son-Binh Dinh style.

Despite enduring the ravages of the Vietnam War, the ruins still stand, seemingly blessed by divine intervention. In 1999, they were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
