But, having already dazzled by Japan's hidden gems, are you still longing for lesser-known, secluded spots?
"Toyama-go Shimokuri-no-sato," a hillside settlement in Nagano Prefecture, appears both small and majestic amidst the surrounding mountains. This unique location has earned it a spot on the "Top 100 Japanese Villages" list, attracting numerous film and television dramas.

Follow the "Fun! Expert Guide" tour and discover hidden gems inaccessible to large buses!

Introduction to Classic Scenic Spots

Tenryu Gorge
Tenryu Gorge, located at the southern end of the Ina Basin in Nagano Prefecture, is a gorge formed by the Tenryu River's long-term erosion of the rocky terrain that traverses the Ina Mountains. Stunning cliffs such as Eboshi Rock and Ryukaku Peak crisscross the banks. Take a boat tour to admire the breathtaking scenery, which changes with each season. It's a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature. Nearby are the Tianlongxia Hot Springs, known for their natural radon-containing hot springs, which are known to treat over 10 chronic conditions, including arthritis, skin diseases, and gout. If you have the time, a soak in the hot springs is highly recommended to experience their healing properties.
