▲World Heritage – Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Village
"Gassho-zukuri" is a unique Japanese residential style featuring a thatched roof with a gabled shape resembling two folded hands. Gassho-zukuri houses are entirely made of wood, constructed without nails, yet offer exceptional strength. Not only are they unique in appearance, but they also prevent snow accumulation, preventing the roofs from collapsing under heavy winter snowfall. Every fifty or sixty years, the aging thatch of a Gassho-zukuri roof must be replaced, and replacing any roof requires the entire village's labor. Shirakawa-go was also registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on December 9, 1995.

Gokayama is a gassho-style village located in Nanto City, in the southwestern tip of Toyama Prefecture, Japan, encompassing the villages of Kyu-Hira, Kyu-Kami-Hira, and Kyu-Toga. While smaller than Shirakawa-go's Gassho-style village, Gokayama Gassho-style Village also retains a significant amount of its own. Like Shirakawa-go, it is a World Heritage Site. Due to its remote location, Gokayama Gassho-style Village is less visited, and walking through the countryside feels like entering a small fairytale world, offering a unique experience of tranquility and beauty.

Travel Notes

– Children aged 0-5 may join the tour free of charge, but bus seats and meals are not provided. For children requiring bus seats, please reserve the child option and the child tour fee will apply.
– Please present your reservation confirmation upon boarding the bus. This must be printed out; otherwise, you will not be allowed on the bus.
– Due to restaurant reservations, lunch may be served in Shirakawa-go or the surrounding Suganuma area. Vegetarian meals are not available. Thank you for your understanding.
– Due to traffic congestion, your visit to various attractions may be shortened, and the order of the itinerary or the return arrival time may be changed due to force majeure. Furthermore, our company and related parties are not responsible for any significant delays in your return arrival time due to traffic conditions, resulting in additional expenses such as accommodation, meals, or taxi fares. Thank you for your understanding.
– From December to March, Minkaen is closed on Thursdays (or the day before if Thursday is a national holiday). You will not be able to enter the museum, but a small gift will be given instead.

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 7 days prior to the start of the trip will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made 4-6 days (including the 6th day) prior to the start of the trip will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1-3 days (including the 3rd day) prior to the start of the trip will not receive a refund.

Cancellations made on the start date of the trip will not receive a refund.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued to the original payment method after deducting necessary expenses.

Rescheduling due to personal reasons will be deemed a cancellation and will be handled in accordance with the above cancellation policy.

If participation is terminated during the event due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, no refund will be given.
