Tour Overview

The magnificent historical building "Kinkaku-ji Temple"

Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kyoto's oldest temple

Kodai-ji Temple: Witness the History of the Warring States Period

Kyoto's five main stone slopes, including "Nene no Michi," "Sanneizaka," and "Ninezaka,"

The magnificent Kinkaku-ji Temple and Kyoto's oldest temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, evoke the tranquil charm of Kyoto. Let Tripbaa's experts guide you through Kyoto and experience the idyllic charm of Japan!

※The sightseeing bus features a multilingual guide system that introduces key attractions. Using GPS (positioning system), the guide automatically provides commentary based on the bus's driving conditions, along with the on-screen and earphones. The scenery and views are described in English, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), and Korean. *The bus guide speaks Japanese only. *The earphones are for onboard use only; do not take them off the bus.

Upon arrival at Kinkaku-ji Temple, you'll be captivated by its magnificent golden facade. Surrounded by lush green mountains and a turquoise lake, this beautiful building resembles a landscape painting by a renowned Buddhist monk—elegant yet unconventional. Kinkaku-ji Temple has weathered numerous natural and man-made disasters, transforming it into the structure it is today. This history is told by the expert...

Next, we'll visit Kyoto's most famous temple, Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Famous attractions include the imposing Niomon Gate; the cliffside Kiyomizu Stage, overlooking downtown Kyoto; Otowa Falls, said to bless academics and health; the Jishu Shrine, known for its marriage blessings; and the majestic Main Hall, dedicated to the Thousand-Armed Kannon.

Kiyomizu-zaka, just outside Kiyomizu-dera Temple, is the busiest section of the five-jo slopes. A variety of shops attract visitors, and there's even a rickshaw ride along the slope—a great experience if you have some free time!

Heading towards Kodai-ji Temple, Sanneizaka is named after the Koyasu Pagoda, a temple dedicated to safe childbirth. The steps on Sanneizaka are mostly stone, so be careful when treading carefully. Willow trees line the path, their swaying branches adding a leisurely atmosphere to the slope.

The road to Ninenzaka passes through a narrow alley. Be careful not to overlook this ancient Japanese path, Ishibe-no-ji. Hidden among the winding alleys are many high-end restaurants. Looking around, might you be tempted to experience authentic Japanese cuisine?

Back on the main Ishibe-no-ji, Ninenzaka is lined with charming little shops and affordable restaurants, perfect for a break if you're tired.

At the end of the slope is the famous "Nene-no-michi," named in honor of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wife. Nene-no-michi is wider than other slopes, offering a chance to spot geisha. Near Nene-no-michi is Kodai-ji Temple, built with funds from Tokugawa Ieyasu and the Northern Government Office Nene, dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Both Kodai-ji Temple and Nene-no-michi bear witness to important history of Japan's Warring States period.
