- About the Attraction | Hida no Sato Illumination Day Trip -

▲World Heritage Site – Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Village

"Gassho" is a unique style of Japanese house, featuring thatched roofs with a gable shape resembling hands clasped in prayer. The houses in Gassho-zukuri Village are all wooden structures, built without nails yet remarkably sturdy. Not only is their appearance unique, but they also prevent snow accumulation, thus avoiding the roof collapse under the weight of heavy winter snow. The thatched roofs of Gassho-zukuri houses must be replaced every fifty to sixty years, and replacing the roof of any house requires the entire village's manpower. Shirakawa-go was also registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on December 9, 1995.

Takayama Old Town is one of Japan's best-preserved old streets. On the way to Takayama Old Town, you'll pass the Takayama Morning Market, a treasure trove for tourists to find local specialties. Hidden within the old town are many delicious local eateries; don't miss the Hida beef nigiri sushi, Hida milk, and Hida beef buns!

[Group Formation Information]

- The minimum group size for this tour is 25 people. If the minimum number is not reached 4 days before departure, you will be notified by email of cancellation and receive a full refund.

- This tour will depart with Japanese travelers.

- This tour will be accompanied by Japanese staff who will provide translation services via an app.

- In case of inclement weather, a decision on cancellation will be made at 15:00 Japan time the day before departure, and you will be notified by email.

[Pricing Information]

- The price for children aged 3-5 years includes only a bus seat and does not include meals.

- Bus seats cannot be reserved.

[Itinerary Information]

- Due to road conditions, the order of the itinerary may be changed.

- The company is not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations of attractions due to force majeure (weather, traffic, etc.). Any expenses incurred, such as accommodation, meals, and taxi fares, will be borne by the traveler.

- To prioritize the Shirakawa-go illumination event, the stay in Takayama may be shortened due to traffic delays.

- Entry to the observation deck on the north side of the venue is prohibited. This tour does not include a visit to the observation deck. We apologize for the inconvenience.

[Safety and Clothing Recommendations]

- Please wear waterproof and non-slip shoes to prevent slipping on wet surfaces.

- Nighttime activities are outdoor hiking; please bring your own flashlight.

- Nighttime temperatures may drop below freezing; please bring warm clothing (such as thermal underwear, a jacket, hand warmers, gloves, a hat, earmuffs, etc.).

Cancellation Clauses

Cancellations made 14 days before the start of the trip will receive a full refund.

Cancellations made 10-13 days (including the 10th day) before the start of the trip will incur a 30% handling fee.

Cancellations made 7-9 days (including the 7th day) before the start of the trip will incur a 50% handling fee.

Cancellations made 4-6 days (including the 4th day) before the start of the trip will incur a 60% handling fee.

Cancellations made 2-3 days (including the 2nd day) before the start of the trip will incur a 70% handling fee.

Cancellations made 1 day before the start of the trip will incur an 80% handling fee.

Cancellations made on the start day of the trip are not eligible for a refund.

If the event is affected by force majeure (e.g., typhoon warnings, heavy rain alerts, etc.), the organizer will determine whether to cancel the event. A refund will be issued after deducting a 10% handling fee. Alternatively, you can choose to reschedule your event, in which case no payment will be deducted.

If a request to reschedule is made due to personal reasons, it will be deemed a cancellation and will be handled in accordance with the cancellation policy above.

If you cancel your participation during the event due to reasons not attributable to the organizer, no refund will be given.
