Everyone knows Dihua Street as the most important street for Taipei residents to shop for Lunar New Year goods each year. Beyond that, Dadaocheng boasts many charming old houses that tell fascinating stories. Even Taipei locals may not know much about Dadaocheng, which is why I call it Taipei's secret paradise!

Over the past two years, cultural and creative industries have infiltrated the nostalgic Dadaocheng, bringing a wealth of innovative goods to this once prosperous place. A stroll through the streets reveals a fascinating interweaving of the past and present. Starting at the quiet, sparsely populated north end of Dihua Street, step effortlessly into the small, creative shops to explore their ingenuity. Passing through Middle Street, South Street, and Western-style Building Street, you'll see the lingering scars of late Qing Dynasty Japanese rule. Make a marriage wish at the City God Temple, admire the towering carved gables, and listen to splendid, elegant stories. This is a leisurely journey rich in human warmth.
