Songluo Lake is the first alpine lake many climbers choose. Yilan's rainy and humid climate creates a thin mist covering the lake. Many climbers hope to catch a glimpse of this "17-year-old girl's dream lake" in its entirety, nestled amidst the mountains and shrouded in mist.
Songluo Lake, Yilan, is a stunning alpine lake located in Wulai District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Nestled within the towering Xueshan Mountains, it rises to an altitude of 1,300 meters. The lake's unique topography, nestled in a high mountain depression, creates a tranquil and tranquil swampy landscape.
Songluo Lake is in full flood season from October to April. During this period, the lake is plentiful, and as the sun shines on the water, you can enjoy the stunning scenery of the shimmering waters and the interweaving of the lake and mountains.
May to September is Songluo Lake's dry season. Although the water level is low during these months, you can still admire the winding waters and the emerald green grass, resembling a gorgeous green crystal dress.
The Yilan Songluo Lake trailhead is located in Songluo Village, Datong Township, Yilan. The trailhead can be roughly divided into three sections: the first section is from the trailhead to the Shuilongtou Campground, the second section is from Shuilongtou Campground to the Quantoumu Mountain fork, and the final section is from the Quantoumu Mountain fork down to Songluo Lake.
Yilan Songluo Lake is a moderately difficult mountain, suitable for those with experience hiking other intermediate mountains and who require heavy equipment.
The Songluo Lake Trail is approximately 5.4 kilometers one way, nearly 11 kilometers round trip, with an elevation gain of over 800 meters. The time required to hike Songluo Lake alone depends on your walking speed, but it typically takes around six hours. While it may not seem difficult, the trails can be muddy and wet year-round, and are often obstructed by rocks, dirt, and tree roots, requiring extreme caution.
