Have you been to Guishan Island, the world's coolest-looking island with a dreamy blue milky sea?
Tuishan Island, located off the coast of Yilan, is named for its turtle-like appearance and is Taiwan's youngest volcanic island. Guishan Island is rich in ecological resources. A popular activity is taking a whale-watching boat out to sea to spot the leaping dolphins of the sea. The success rate for whale and dolphin sightings on Guishan Island is as high as 95%. Whale-watching trips allow you to circumnavigate the island to admire its eight unique scenic spots and visit the dreamy milky sea, which has been a popular attraction in recent years.
Besides marine activities, it's also important to take advantage of the months when applications for island entry are open: March to November each year. We especially recommend applying to visit the island in April and May, when the lilies are in full bloom, creating a truly impressive white sea of flowers. Guishan Island boasts a popular and iconic trail, "401 Hill." After climbing 1,706 steps, you'll reach the highest point of Guishan Island, offering panoramic views of the unique landscape of the Turtle Head and Turtle Tail, as well as the Milky Sea. Please note that the daily limit for 401 Hill is 100, so be sure to reserve a spot in advance to see the scenery from Guishan Island's hilltops!
